We're heading out in 2 weeks, staying off site. I was unable to it for FP for our group, but we have 2 ADRs for BOG breakfasts (one at 8:25 and one at 8:30). I'm hoping that we get an early ride on 7DMT on one of those two mornings, if not both. But, I'm wondering how great the ride is, and I know that's subjective, but to give some perspective - my kids LOVE BTMRR, and the older two really like Space, and they all like Barnstormer. I'm wondering if this one is going to rank up there with those, or if we get it done once, that will be enough. Again, for perspective, one time on BTMRR or Space is definitely NOT enough for my kiddos. They want to do those over and over. Should I try to work the system for an additional FP breaking up my group of 7? Thoughts?

It's a small coaster, nothing like Big Thunder or Space in terms of thrills, but a little ahead of Barnstormer for the couple of drops and curves. Plus the cars rock side to side. Add in the theming, and your kids will probably love it, as long as they don't have to wait 2 hours for 2 minutes. I'd do it first thing both mornings after BOG breakfast and, knowing the difficulty of snagging any FP for it, try to get lucky on shorter wait times very early or very late. Or, if it breaks down as often as it seemed to when we were there, manage to hang out nearby until it reopens.

Kids will love it, especially if they're into BTMR. The theming is amazing, and the ride itself felt very cool to me because it was so smooth, no jerking around corners or anything. BUT that being said, I don't think it's worth your time if the wait is upwards of an hour, which it frequently is. I thought it was a fun ride, but it's not very long and if I'm going to wait in line for a long time, I want the time spent on the ride to be worth it. First thing in the morning is your best bet, or try right before the park closes. I tried to do it one night during Wishes, but apparently everyone had the same strategy I did because the line was still 40 minutes long. Keep trying for FPs, but if that doesn't come through you're probably best off doing it first thing in the morning, right after breakfast. Good luck!

My friend and I (both adults) rode it last year with FP+. For both of us, our reaction was "it's cute, but it's not something I'm stressing over another FP+ for, and I wouldn't wait more than 20 minutes for it." But I realize we are in the minority.

And just as a disclaimer, we are not "MUST BE THRILL RIDE" people - we like them of all types. This one we just found ok. Maybe we built it up to be too much in our heads?

It is in between Barnstormer and BTMRR as far as thrills go. My five year old LOVES it. It is a short ride. I think the appeal of it is that it is a coaster that most people in the family can do but a little more thrilling that Barnstormer. The height restriction is shorter than many of the other coasters, which I think leads to longer lines.

I love it, but it's not quite a thrill-ride. The best part is the very well realized diamond mine part, which is slow. The rest of the ride is kinda short, but fun and a very smooth ride. I think it is worth a ride or two for sure.

It's a fun ride...not a thrill ride on the level of Space or BTMRR. We really enjoy it but it's rather short. We do it once every trip and if we go crazy it might be twice.

We found it a really cute ride and 1 we will have on a to do list, But nothing like BTMR, Splash or Space. I would put it in the category of a kids Roller-coaster. It is a super cute ride and a for sure must do but IMO I feel like after by the second early morning you will want to do something else. If you have memory makers this has a cute video that you will get!!

It's okay. Thrill-wise, I would put it somewhere below the Barnstormer. I wouldn't wait more than 10 minutes for it. It's a very nicely themed kiddie coaster.

Like everything, you have to see for yourself. But to me, it is not worth the "opportunity cost" that it takes to ride. Once you sit down, it is definitely fun. Lines are too long. FP+ too hard to reserve. I would much rather wait a shorter amount of time for BTMRR.

I would plan on riding as many times as possible. I really liked the ride and felt it was short, so I wanted to do it again. Plus, it's new so you don't catch everything the first time. Also, it has cool stuff in the interactive que.

Its definitely something to try once. I have to say the nighttime ride we did was better than daytime. It was short, not as short as barnstormer, but my 5 year olds whom loved splash, btmr, and barnstormer loved 7dmt.

My fiance and I felt exactly the same way.

I like the ride as well but it is very short. I feel sorry for people who waited 2 hours in the Standby line, just as sorry as people who waited 90 mins for Peter Pan.

The ride was way better than I thought it would be. Really fun but a little short. I rode twice, once with FP and once out of a BOG ADR. Both times I waited less than 5 minutes. If I had waited an hour, I probably would have liked it much less.

It's a good ride. It is NOT just for kids as some previous posters have said. Although it's not as thrilling as BTMRR, I'd say it's definitely somewhat on the way there. Nice coaster and good story elements (although nowhere near as elaborate as Splash, which I think is most people's complaint about it). But we like it and I definitely think you will too

Better than barnstormer, not better than the others. And it's VERY short. We rode it the first time, and it was over and we all were like "thats it?"

Oh, and it's a much better ride at night, in my opinion.

We've been to WDW a few times since 7D opened. Full disclosure- BTMRR is in my top three WDW rides. Then again.....years ago, late on a slow night we rode it over 14 times in a row! It spoiled us forever. A half hour is the (generally) longest we'll wait for any attraction, except rare special events.

I rank it worth riding once per trip for now. Two years from now, the wait for it will die down.

It will still be fairly popular or some time, but I recall crazy long Mission:SPACE and Pooh waits! The big deal of 7D is that it is new. When it is no longer new, it will rank with Pooh.

If you don't have a FP, one of your best shots at a short wait this trip- whether you get early access or not- is still likely to be just after the BOG breakfast, unless that morning also happens to be a major holiday (Pres. Day, Easter).

Since you are going late Jan/early Feb, your day won't be a crowdbuster day, unless you mean MLK weekend or the day after the Superbowl. You likely won't wait long for anything other than 7D.
