How crazy is this? DD and her BF are headed to Space Mtn at Rope Drop and then we are planning on meeting up at Buzz. I can no longer ride SM, but wanted to experience 7DMT (and could not secure FPs). If we split up at rope drop , will be be done at similar times? My sister and I are pretty good an maneuvering through crowds so I think we'd get there okay, I just wasn't sure how long or crazy the process actually was. This would be on Monday, June 4th.

If you and DSis can be towards the front of the crowd waiting to get into Fantasyland, you'll probably finish close to the same time. If you are anywhere else, they will finish at SM before you. My advice would be for you all to plan to text when you're almost at the boarding section. This way, if they are way ahead of you, they can ride SM again or do one round on Buzz before you get there.

I would suggest watching this video. Very good for insight on Rope Drop waits for 7DMT:

Don’t give up on getting a FP until you’re physically in the standby line. Refresh, refresh.

In 2016 we did it at rope drop. I wasn’t sure if my 3 year old would be tall enough 60 days before the trip so I just got one fast pass near the end of our trip. She made it on and cried when we could ride it again. 90 minute wait. So we went to MK our last day and we ran to the coaster and the wait was 25 minutes, but she loved it.

Seems most people now are headed to 7DMT or Peter Pan. You will have a crowd headed to Fantasy Land. Might consider taking the right loop of th ehub toward Tomorrow Land and go up and around the castle. It also gets you close to 7DMT enterance.

We did it last year in June. We arrive 45-1hour before park opening. We didn't watch castle show but stood at rope or just a few people back from it. We got on with very little wait.

Third week in August 2016 we arrived at MK about 45 minutes before rope drop. We were maybe 20 rows deep from the front of the pack, power walked to SDMT, and waited maybe 15 minutes in the queue. We did this on two seperate days. It was great!
