What are people's recent experience with doing Mine Train at Rope drop. Did it once and we were out in about 15 minutes. Going on a Friday, Nov. 6, do you think it will be a similar experience?

Yes I do and think you would not have a long wait.Friday many will be in school and locals will not be bad until early evening.

We're doing this on a Monday on a morning EMH day. Hope it works! Couldn't get a FP+ till later in the week. They were building it last time we were there. I'm excited!

Couldnt get a fast pass for 7DMT when i went last month, so was there for rope drop. Weaved in and out of people walking to the attraction and would say i was within the first 40 people to get there.
Was fine.

The walk through the line to get to the actual loading seemed to be longer than the actual ride.

Good luck and enjoy.

We did it during our trip last April. We were one of the first people in "line" at the rope for the 9a opening. I think we were done w/7DM by about 9:15a.

**Rant warning**

It was a total rat race getting to 7DMT and I didn't like the mayhem with people dashing ahead of others, jockeying for position etc. Even though we were one of the first folks to arrive at rope drop, folks squirmed there way ahead us and showed up out of nowhere via our flank etc. I would not go as far to say there was pushing and shoving but it was awfully close. My 9 y/o was rammed by a stroller... not on purpose but the woman was more concerned about getting to the ride than she was about not running other people over. I refuse to do things like run ahead of others, cut people off, "block" to hold my position. And I insist that my children conduct themselves in the same manner. So by the time we got to the ride there were probably about about 100 people ahead of us (even though we were one of the first in line at RD). I'm really hoping we can get an FP for our next trip. We also booked a pre-park opening ADR at BOG in the hoped of avoiding the mob.

We have done 7DMT rope drop for all of our MK days during our last few trips. We have gone this route for all of our trips (Sept 2014, Aug 2015, Oct 2015) since the mine train opened. In our experience we had no issues whatsoever and it seemed very organized. We always get there between 8-8:15 for a 9am opening and wait in front of the right side tunnel. The ride has always been a walk on for us with no issues. Yes you will always have a few people who manage to squeeze in front of you but I think as long as you are there for rope drop you should have a min wait. I will say that our kids are not little anymore so we have not had to mess with strollers so that might be an entirely different experience for those in that situation. But for us no issue and we enjoy being able to do once for RD and again later in the day with FP+.

It seems to still be where everyone heads for rope drop. When we were there a couple of weeks ago, Magic Kingdom seemed to open 15-20 minutes before the posted opening time almost every day, so you may want to factor that in. If you're truly there for rope drop and head straight there, you should be fine. That line still gets very, very long within a few minutes of opening though.
