I called MS today to find out how many points it would take for us to cruise DCL's Mexican itinerary in June 2005. I inquired on a category 9 stateroom for 2 adults and 2 kids (10 & 12). The answer was 758 points (242+242+137+137).

We will not book this vacation on points. Instead, I've booked through a travel agent for $6,046.32.

Thought you might be interested.

i always found cash prices were cheaper then using points, you could rent your points pay cash and still have extra cash to use and dont forget the $95 fee for the booking on points

Yes I agree. We always pay cash for anything other that DVC resorts. Cruises really use a lot of points and if you have a really good travel agent, the price is so much better.

The reality is that this is one of the better deals for points at $8 pp. The reason is lack of signficant cash discounts.
