70th birthday ideas at WDW

I am planning a birthday event for my mother's 70th birthday...she turned down a GG event and wanted our group to come up with a surprise event for her. So, we are trying to think of the funnest place to eat. We are thinking of Whispering Canyon Cafe or possible 50's prime time for their fun atmosphere. Does anyone have any other recommendations, or recommendations for a way to make our birthday dinner even more special (besides ordering a cake). I would also think of a place that we would have great fireworks viewing or something along those lines. Thanks for any advice (we probably would not be in EPCOT this day and we are unfortunately not park hopping).

Whichever PARK you visit be sure to get her a BIRTHDAY PIN at guest services. They illicit MANY "happy Birthdays" and sometimes even a surprise or two.
My DH took me on a three day getaway as a surprise B-day gift for me and when we checked in at AKL they gave me the pin and UPGRADED us too, talk about surprised! But at MK the Mayor stopped to say Happy Birthday and the piano player outside Casey sang to me, even the cm's at rope drop at MK dancing up by the train waved and yelled Happy Birthday. At one of teh take out ocunters someone even gave me a free desert. It was TRULY AMAZING. Now having said that, none of it may happen to your grandma, but YOU NEVER KNOW.....

Thanks...I will definitely get her a birthday button, I was thinking of one of those Mickey Birthday hats too, something to get everybody's attention. I didn't know there was a mayor of the Magic Kingdom...where have I been? I hope she gets a lot of pixie dust from the CM's, but I want to cover all of my bases and make sure there is lots of fun!
