I'm hoping my husband will be sent to Orlando for work again next year. We have a new baby that'll be a toddler at the time. Now my problem is my 7 year old loves all the bigger kid rides but I don't know how to swing that since we will have our Toddler this time. My husband will be at work so it'll just be me. Can she go in the single rider lane? Can I wait in the line with her? I'm nervous about her waiting alone. I'm not even sure she'll want to ride alone.

Your 7 year old can ride alone, but you won't be permitted to wait in line with her with the toddler on any ride with a height requirement. And there are only 3 rides with single rider lanes: RockNRoller Coaster, Expedition Everest, and Test Track. Your daughter will either have to wait in line alone or only go on rides with no height requirements. I'd probably vote for the latter because I don't know that I'd want to send a 7 year old through a line alone. Could your husband join you in the parks in the evening?

Your 7 year old can wait in line alone and ride the rides alone. Whether or not you let that happen is up to you and your child's maturity should be taken into consideration. My kids have been to Disney tons and are very independent so for me, it was no problem sending them alone on rides as soon as they were 7. I would wait at the ride exit as close to the unloading area as was allowed.

I know other 7 year olds who probably shouldn't be in a different bathroom stall than their parents. It is all about how prepared the kids is.

My tip, make sure that they know what to do if the ride breaks down, who to go to for help if anything unexpected happens and how to find you if you are not where they thought you would be.

FYI, my 11 year old daughter just made her first solo trip from Pop Century to Magic Kingdom so I am probably not the norm when it comes to what I will let my kids do alone.
