Silly question:
Could my 7 year old be teething???

He has had a fever and been lethargic for two days. He has no appetite. His gums are all red and swollen. His top two teeth are slightly loose. Behind the baby teeth, it is red and swollen and hurts. When he was a baby getting teeth, he would always get a fever before new teeth popped through.
Could this be what is happening?

Has anyone ever heard of this before? Or could it be something else?

It could be his six year old molars growing in.

MY DD 7 1/2 still never got her 6 year old molars yet. Dentist said some are just late.

Oh poor sweetie if that's what's going on. I know all too well as my 21-month-old is getting some teeth right now too. Maybe try some orajel to help with the pain. And some Motrin or tylenol too.

Sounds like a visit to the dentist to me - I wouldn't fool around with fever and dental problems. Could be something else like an absess. Untreated dental problems can have serious consequences.

I never checked the back for molars, just saw that the gums above the top of his front teeth are all red and swollen and weird looking.
His fever was down tonight, so that is good.
Just strange to see my fun loving energetic hyper boy falling asleep on his bedroom floor at 4:00 in the afternoon and not asking for a snack every hour!!
I will see how he is tomorrow, then maybe book him into the dentist.
Thanks!
