I have been lurking around the DIS for awhile and am going to try my hand at a trip report and Dining Report. I think the dining report will be easier so I'm starting with that. By the way our trip was June 9-20.

The Cast:

Me: 41, a midwest girl who isn't into fancy food, but I will eat almost anything.
DH: 41, a little more advertureous eater than me, likes "fancy" food
DD1: 16, eats almost anything
DD2: 14, picky, loves steak and prime rib, chicken fingers and mac and cheese
DS: 12, like his oldest sister eats almost anything
Ddad: 60ish, a real meat and potatoes guy
Dmom: 60ish, more adverturous than dad, but not as much as DH

I have no pictures as my family isn't into people taking pictures of their food, :confused3 but will describe what we ate and what we liked (and didn't like).

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Exellent, loved it, we are definitely going back

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Good, liked it, we will probably go back

:thumbsup2 Okay, we may or may not go back

:scared: Poor, didn't like it, we will not being going back here

Pinocchio's :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
We ate here late during our stay and I think all of us had Pizza as we were hungry for it. Pizza was okay. DS and I had Cannoli, and everyone else had Strawberry shortcake for desert. Cannoli was tasty, but after seeing shortcake I wish I would have ordered that. The atmosphere here is fun, as you can either watch the crowds in fantasy land or the boats taking off for Small World.

Restaurantosaurus :thumbsup2
What can you say about a Cheeseburger and McDonald's French Fries. Or McNuggets and Fries. The highlights were the fixing bar (almost as good as Pecos Bill's) and desert--brownies and strawberry shortcake again.

Sunshine Season Food Fair :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
This gets three thumbs up purely for the variety of food you can choose from. DH, Ddad, DD2 and I had Rotisseri chicken and fruit salad. The chicken was moist and tender, and the fruit was nice and fresh. Dmom had salad of some type and fruit. DD1 and DS had tuna salad and a brownie. It was nice for everyone to spread out and have choices of what they wanted. For me the fruit was a nice switch from all the sweets I had been getting for my deserts.

ABC Commissary :thumbsup2
We had never eaten here and wanted to try it. I was not overly impressed. The food was okay, but the condiments, silverware and napkins were empty at the end we were at. Some of us had cheeseburgers (again what can you say about a cheeseburger) while others had fish and chips (not as good as Great Britain). The atmosphere helps as clips of upcoming shows are playing on tvs around the room and memorbilia from tv shows is displayed around the room.

Pecos Bill's :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
This is a traditional stop for us at Magic Kingdom. We all love the cheeseburgers and fixins bar. The PB brownie was good as was the yougurt choice my son made. We will continue to make this a traditional not to be missed spot.

Pizzafari :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Another traditional stop for us. We like the atmosphere and the food is good also. I always get the Chicken Salad and kids get pizza. DH and Ddad had the Deli sandwich and said it was excellent. We had apple blossoms for desert which were very good also. Again we will continue to make this a stop during our WDW travels.

Everything POP :thumbsup2
This was a last morning stop as we had a counter service meal left and wanted to have a good breakfast before starting for Illinois. The breakfast sandwiches were filling as was the Breakfast pizza. Getting two drinks was a problem, and getting fruit would have been better for us on the food plan. We each had a drink to take in the car.

Bonus Review Great Britain Fish and Chips :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
Again another tradition for us. We ate our fish during a rain storm and had to share our chips with some rather pushy birds. The fish and chips are wonderful. Not much for desert choices just prepackaged shortbread cookies. The cookies were tasty, but not to the liking of my DS.

coming next TS reviews

Good job with counter service reviews. Quick, informative and to the point. I look forward to your TS reviews!

This is a favorite spot for my kids and the choice for DD2's 14th birthday dinner. My dh goes along but thinks it is for littler kids than ours, but hey everyone is young at disney!

We arrived a little early so we wandered around the contemporary a little bit. We went outside and took some pictures that I will post in my trip report. We then relaxed on some comfy couches (we were coming off of a 20 hour drive from Illinois). It was then time to go check in and get our picture taken. We didn't buy them, but here is a picture of the crew waiting.

The character interaction was wonderful. Each character came around and spent time wishing DD2 a happy birthday. Minnie delivered the cupcake. Pluto kissed my DH and Ddad's heads. Here's pictures of DD2 with the characters.

Okay now the food. Our favorites are the Prime Rib, mashed potatoes (DD1 says they are even real!!), seafood salad, mac and cheese (DD2 declares it wonderful), and carrots. The desert table provided wonderful choices including make your own sundaes (DS favorite), cheesecake, cookies, fresh fruit, and sugar free brownies.

:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 Great character interaction and food, better for smaller kids probably

Excellent reviews so far! We too love Peco's Bill, its our 'must do' CS each time we go now. Looking forward to more reviews :thumbsup2

This was my DH's choice for our 18th wedding anniversary dinner. We have eaten here in the past for both breakfast and dinner and know that it is a favorite if we are lucky to get a reservation. We arrived at the castle and checked in for our 6:20 reservation. We were taken into the lobby and had pictures taken with Cinderella. As we had seven in our group, they took two shots--one of just my three kids and one with all 7 of us. These are the ones taken with our camera. The ones they gave us as part of our package are not blurry.

We were taken upstairs where somehow the message had been passed that we had three kids, girls, with us rather than three juniors. My girls got the wands, DS got a sword, and they had an extra wand, so they gave it to Dmom.
Upon being seated, we had to order all three of our meal parts at the same time. We were also told our meal had been prepaid, so it wouldn't come off of our DDP, or the waiter could try and change it. We just left it as it was. Here's what we ate:

Me: BLT salad, Prime Rib and Raspberry Sorbet.
DH: BLT salad, Prime Rib and Chocolate cake (to go)
DD1: Corn and Crab soup, Chicken, and blueberry buckle with lemon ice cream
DD2: BLT Salad, Prime Rib, and chocolate cake
DS: BLT Salad, Prime Rib, and Chocolate cake
Ddad: BLT Salad, Prime Rib, and Chocolate Cake
Dmom: Soup, chicken, and a bowl of fresh strawberries.

The BLT salad was tasty but nothing really special. I was told that the soup was good, just not terribly hot when brought to the table. The prime rib practically melts in your mouth and the potatoes make a wonderful side dish. DD1 and Dmom enjoyed the chicken which was very juicy. Dmom is a diabetic so asked the waiter about choices for her desert. He checked with the chef and told her he would bring her fruit. She had a sorbet dish filled with fresh strawberries which were quite yummy. The sorbet also came with fresh strawberries and was very refreshing. Those that ate their cake said it was very moist and chocolatey. (DS had DH's cake for breakfast one morning) The blueberry buckle was good and the lemon ice cream added a good taste.

While we ate, the fairy godmother, Suzy and Perla came out and mentioned all the birthdays, anniversaries etc. At this point we got a cupcake with a candle and a magical moments certificate. Suzy and Perla came around to the tables and greeted everyone after the "show." I think they were signing autographs as well.

A highlight for us was watching a man propose to his girlfriend/fiancee. They were seated by the windows. What a romantic spot to get engaged. Of course everyone cheered when she said yes.

As we were leaving we looked for Jaq and Gus in the lobby (thanks for the info DIS) and took their picture.

We wanted to try some new restaurants this time, so my dh chose this one. We were at Animal Kingdom on this day, so we just took the bus over to Animal Kingdom Lodge. We arrived a little early, so we walked around the resort. The animals out on the plains were not very active, as it was a rainy day. We did see some African buffalo, and a few birds, but nothing to terribly exciting.

When it was time, we went down to the restaurant and were seated. Our server was very helpful in explaining how the restaurant worked, what to try etc. Well as I said in the intro, we are not into exotic food at our house. We all decided the best things were the Prime Rib (hey we are beef eaters from the midwest :) ) and the Zebra balls. The bread pudding wasn't too bad and a couple of the salads were okay as well. I'm sorry I don't have more specific details, but this is one meal I'm trying to forget. My Ddad decided about half way through the meal, he was going to need a snack back at the resort and declared the food yucky! :sad2:

Upon returning to Animal Kingdom after the meal an opinion poll was taken, and the opinion of all was we were glad to be able to say we tried it, but won't be going back to this restaurant. That being said our rating is:
:scared:
