I don't know if anyone else has thougt of this or is thinking of doing this.

Now that the DVC has 7 diffrent resorts at WDW how fun or how much of a pain would it be to take a weeks vacation and stay at each resort one night.

I was thinking about a July 2010 trip and not going to the theme parks but mabye doing the Deluxe dining plan and going to the water parks.

Am I CRAZY or does this sound fun!!!!!!

I envy you.

I'd love to try it but at the end of the day, it sounds too much like work to me.

If you actually decide to give it a whirl, please do a trip report and let us know. I have to admit that I am a bit intrigued.

It depends, as long as you're not doing it with little kids it sounds fun.

NO WAY!!! I HATE to change resorts on a trip, and even one change is about the extent of what I'll endure. We like to spend a few days at AKV CL before or after an OKW trip, and that gets to be hectic even with one change in 10 days.

Since you don't plan to do theme parks, maybe it would work--as long as you don't mind living out of a suitcase. Would love to read the trip report!

It sounds horrible to me, I like to get my stuff out once and put it away once. I think it would only be only barely manageable with two adults, or solo. I would rather make seven 5-day trips in one year to check out each resort!!!:cool1:
Wouldn't that be fun???????:woohoo:

It sounds like fun and a lot of food! If I did a version of that, I would put in some Fireworks cruises. Even if I don't go to a park during the day, I like to head into one for some fireworks. That and only 1 sit down meal a day would be my only changes.

As someone mentioned, it would have to be a "with no child" trip!

Bobbi:goodvibes

PS. If we were setting up a time frame, what time of the year would work best for 7 month reservations? Not even DVC Mike owns at all of the resorts:goodvibes

My vote is crazy!

You would barely even get a feel for the resort, then BAM, your gone!

I wouldn't even consider it. We love the DVC resorts, well almost all of them, and we enjoy the atmosphere when we are at each one of them. I don't want to be hurried in and out. Yikes what a lot of work!!!!

We don't even really consider staying at two resorts for one trip. We like arriving home and settling in. 7/7 would require too much thought, coordination, and effort, all things i try to avoid on vacation. (Well, maybe not so much on the coordination:headache:)

Sorry, but being "homeless" every day from 11:00 to possibly 4:00 would be too drive me crazy. I am doing a two resort split stay in August and hope that I make it through that!

If definitely sounds like an adventure...I don't know if I'd enjoy it, but hey, if it sounds appealing to you - great! 2, maybe 3 per trip would do it for me...but that's just me - and certainly not with any kids along.

I think it sounds like a lot of fun and certainly a Disney Adventure!!

I agree with a few of the previous posters, however ...

1. I think that 1 night would not be enough time to give you the "feel" of the resort ... how about a 14 night trip so you could have 2 nights at each resort?!?!? Love the idea of 7 seperate 5 day trips in a year but we are short a few points to make that dream come true!

2. NEVER with kids, and my DH would probably hate it ... would have to be solo for me! (Hmmmmmm, this is sounding a bit better! 14 days at Disney with no one to answer to but myself?!?! ;) )

While we've yet to try something so ambitious at WDW ... we have enjoyed some pretty fantastic roadtrips using our other timeshare. Our two best examples:
  • 2002 Pacific Coastline, Roundtrip San Diego to Vancouver, BC
    • May 4, leave San Diego ... arrive Marina Dunes. Visit Hearst Castle and Monterey Bay area.
    • May 6, leave Marina Dunes ... arrive Clear Lake. Visit area wineries on the way in.
    • May 7, leave Clear Lake ... arrive Running Y Ranch. Enjoy day trip to Crater Lake.
    • May 9, leave Running Y ... arrive Gleneden Beach. Enjoy a lovely dinner from our patio overlooking the Oregon Coast.
    • May 10, leave Gleneden ... arrive Mariner Village. We are a bit weary ... and ready to turn in early ... but not w/out first walking the WA shore looking for sand dollars.
    • May 11, leave Mariner Village ... arrive Vancouver. Explored the city by foot, spent a day in Stanley Park, took in the Aquarium and enjoyed gazing at the cruise ships heading to Alaska.
    • May 13, leave Vancouver and begin the return trip home ... arriving Surfside. Enjoyed the indoor pool, attended an emergency in the parking lot involving another guest and turned in.
    • May 14, leave Surfside ... arrive Schooner Landing. Our second unit this trip with jetted tub -- we made good use of it!
    • May 15, leave Schooner Landing ... return to Running Y Ranch. This time we tried a different building, spent our time in the lodge and exploring the resort grounds. Plenty of critters! Beautiful place.
    • May 16, leave Running Y (again) ... arrive Angels Camp in time for the Calaveras County Fair (think Frog Jump!!). Spent a full day at the fair -- lots of fun.
    • May 18, leave A'Camp ... arrive Pismo Beach. We walked the pier and savored the last evening of our journey.
    • May 19, left Pismo Beach ... and returned home. Total trip was 4000 miles on a rented Nissan pickup.
  • 2008 Yellowstone and more!
    • June 14, leave San Diego ... arrive St. George. Spent a full day exploring Zion National Park.
    • June 16, leave St. George ... arrive Bear Lake. Stopped at Costco in Provo adding BBQ essentials. Whipped up a lovely dinner on the grill and laughed at the crazy magpies.
    • June 17, leave Bear Lake ... arrive Yellowstone -- the main event! Spent the next few days cruising both Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. Can you imagine the total overload?? These two parks are spectacular beyond words!
    • June 21, sadly leave Yellowstone and the safety of our timeshare system heading across Wyoming to a hotel near Mt. Rushmore. Spent a full day at the monument and thoroughly enjoyed both the daytime and evening programs.
    • June 23, leave Mt. Rushmore ... arrive Estes Park. Spent a day exploring Rocky Mtn National Park -- filled with animal sightings.
    • June 25, leave Estes Park ... arrive Midway. Soaking in the hot pot is real treat!
    • June 27, leave Midway ... arrive Las Vegas. Took a quick dip in the hot tub and a spin around the lazy river then headed into town for dinner and the late seating of Cirque du Soleil's "O" at the Bellagio.
    • June 28 leaving Las Vegas ... and returning home! This trip clicked in at 4030 miles ... all good!

I think it sounds like fun!! What a different way to enjoy all of the DVC resorts in one week!! I too would enjoy reading the trip report.

It definitely does not sound like fun to me, so I guess you're crazy! :lmao:

Seriously, I would NOT want to do that.

Bell Service tips alone would stop me!:rotfl:

I would be tired and you cant really sleep in if you have to be out by 11am each day.

Plus all the front desk interaction is scary.

I would do Deluxe Dining every other day since your credits dont expire until midnight on each of your checkout days.

My vote is for a minimum of a two night stay at each resort. When you stay one night, you check in, may only get into the room at 4pm then must be out by 11am. If you stay two nights at least you get one full day at the resort, plus two nights - this is significantly better value for all the points you would be using.
We have had bad experiences a couple of times changing resorts. My recommendation is to either rent a car or to use a taxi to do the switch. Some people report having great experiences using Bell Services to move their luggage - we did not. :headache: It took twelve hours to receive our stuff at our new resort *both* times.
We have made the decision after these bad experiences not to waste time during a stay switching resorts, although we have since moved and will move within the same resort (from WL to VWL for example, or from a studio to a 1BR).
I don't enjoy unpacking/packing myself...by staying put there is less time lost on this activity, more time spent actually enjoying the surroundings. For our future adventures we will simply try out the various resorts on different stays.

billsfan, I know some very nice psychiatrists to help you with your problem.

That sounds like the trip from hell, I'm sorry to say.

If you are a member, you have at least 33 years to do one location per trip.

bwvBound: We've done the trips to Yellowstone and Glacier from Louisiana. And the trips to SoCal from Louisiana, but the best part was settling in for a few days in a hotel to sleep, relax, see the sights, get the laundry done, etc. The worst part was driving, stopping for the night, driving, stopping for the night.
