Hi all,

We’re planning our first 7 night cruise, and trying to figure out the best night for Palo dinner! Is there a special pirate menu on pirate night, like there is on a 4 night? We aren’t super stoked on the pirate menu, and wouldn’t mind missing it. However, we’ve never had the prince & princess menu and would like to try it. So trying to figure out a night to book Palo dinner has been tough, esp since we don’t know our dinner rotation.
If you did Palo, what nights menu did you skip?

thanks!

There is a pirate night, and you should be able to see if in your cruise itinerary. The other thing to bear in mind is that the first night in each restaurant will be the restaurant's "regular" menu, so since it sounds like you have done a 4 night and if you wouldn't mind missing one of the standard menus, you can book Palo on day 1 and know you won't miss something new.

Some people request a specific dinner rotation to plan around palo; not guaranteed, but doesn't hurt to ask.

When we did the EC, pirate night was on the day we went to Tortola. And yes, there is a special menu that night. The prince and princess menu was towards the end of the cruise, I think maybe Thurs or Frid but can't remember exactly this was in 2019.

Oh good to know about the first night in each restaurant, that makes sense. I’m nervous about booking Palo on night 1 because I tend to get a little sea sick sailing out of Florida.

Oh wonderful! That’s exactly what I needed to know :) thank you!

I also get seasickness on the first night leaving PC. I started using ginger candy on our last 2 cruises(along with Bonine) and never got sick. Our last cruise even had a couple of days of really bad weather and the ginger candy helped a lot. I've ordered it from Amazon and Wal-mart. I like the brand Tummy Drops, the peach-ginger and pear-ginger are good.

Glad it's not just me..! We buy bags of these rice crackers (they have ginger) whenever we travel: https://www.instacart.com/uwajimaya/products/276661-funaoka-shoga-tsumami-rice-crackers-4-93-oz . They really do help if we ever have digestion trouble from all the random food we inevitably eat!

Just be prepared—there is more “high seas” time on the 7 night and I got seasick much more often than on the shorter cruises (where like you I only felt it on the first night). I highly recommend bonine—the ginger didn’t work for me, but bonine worked super fast and didn’t make me dowsy.

Oh believe me, I do it all, lol!! Bonine, MotionEze(worthless) seabands, and ginger candy. I would use the patch, but can't for health reasons. We've done 6 cruises so far, all 7 nights. We have a 5night booked for next year on the Magic for dd's Spring break. I'm hoping the 5 nights don't go by too quickly, I always feel like 7 nights goes by so fast. We did our first cruise on the Magic in 2001 and this will be our first time since then to cruise on her again. I can't wait to see all the changes!! I love the Wonder, so I know I'll love the Magic.
