7-night cruises on the Fantasy resuming 10/9/21

I definitely feel for those whose itineraries are no longer what they signed up for, but I'm so glad to see the return to longer sailings. One more step towards something kind of like normal!

How are they handling sea day activity bookings (tastings, dining)? It looks like they're moving sea day #2 on the Western sailings from day 6 up to day 4.... Are they simply moving all activity bookings to the new sea day?

We're on the 11/28 Fantasy Eastern. I have said that we'd be happy to go anywhere after all of this time.

Here is a comparison. I work concerts in my town and I am seeing shows going on where the shows went on sale 2 years ago. A lot of people are going to these shows with different line ups, time changes and venue changes as well. I am of the mind set, as are some of these goers, that I just want to get this pending cruise/concert over with. Its a lingering "old life/pre-covid" thing hanging over my head. Enough with moving dates and such. I am going to show up at the date and time and see what happens. I think this cruise for us was originally booked in June of 2019.

At this point anything has to be better than sitting at home wishing to do something.

Are some of those ports only allowing vaccinated passengers? That would cut DCL out also. (And I think they will want to avoid having to re-test folks during the cruise to go to any ports.)
USVI will allow unvaccinated under-12s with a negative PCR. But they are restricting number of passengers daily. I suspect that RCCL and NCL have all the spots.

I can honestly say that we were ecstatic about the changes to our Oct 9th Fantasy cruise itinerary changes. We only selected the western Caribbean route because it was the only 7 night they were offering at the time. We absolutely love sea days and Castaway Cay so these changes are exactly what we wanted.....except Nassau. We'll just stay on the ship there anyways. I do feel bad for the people who wanted the original itinerary but at least they have the choice of taking the change, making a new reservation or getting their money back.

This is my first leisure cruise (I was in the Navy), but can someone explain to me what's the deal with Nassau? I read a lot of comments about people just staying on the ship and being disappointed about Nassau. I don't get it honestly. I've never been to Nassau, but I believe my kids will enjoy Atlantis more than Castaway Cay. Is this a DCL thing?

We're happy with to. The others in our party are happy about 2 CC days.
We need to look at Nassau, but the port adventures aren't up yet.
I'm happy for Oct to come now. Until this change I was dreading what was going to happen

Atlantis is fantastic. Nassau (at the port) is crowded with lots of vendors trying to sell their goods to the cruisers. LOTS of vendors.
So, it's (in naval terms) running the gauntlet to get where you want to go.
It's not a DCL thing, it's "I've been to Nassau 7 times and nothing is new to see or experience ... except the gauntlet".

Oct. 9 sailing.....just got our rooms changed (all 4 of them) to one floor higher.
No notice. TA didn't get notice. We just noticed when we started our check in.
He called and they don't know why......but now DH and I have connected room with DS's friends
Door closed and locked :rotfl:

I just checked and my stateroom changed also. They gave me a connected room, I didn't have a connected room before.

I love that there are 2 stops at Castaway for the 7-nights new itineraries for Oct.

If DCL is going to stay on this Western schedule for the rest of 2021 for 7-night sailings it would be nice if they could break Castaway visits up on the 1st and last day like the 11/21 sailing rather than doing Castaway back-to-back days.

Are your room moves making significant changes? We specifically pick our rooms and I'd be pretty unhappy if they moved me without notice.

Did you have a GTY cabin, or did you choose your own and they moved you anyways?

I went from a non-connecting room to a connecting room. Same room category and same deck. For example, I was in room 2 now I'm in room 4. I find this weird. I picked my room myself

I guess it was a glitch in the Matrix ( You see what I did there. The new Matrix movie trailer came out today) because I'm back in my original stateroom.

I GOT MOVED AGAIN.:(

We had rooms that we had picked. One because DGD had been in that one on her first cruise with us, one connecting to it.....and ours across on the other side :)
DS's friends family was a floor down.
Now we are 4 in a row

Same kind of room......wish if they moved us we could have received an upgrade ::yes::

Our Eastern changed to a Western. They moved our Remy brunch from a day that is no longer a sea day to a sea day. They kept our Palo brunch on the same day, though it changed from a sea day to Nassau day (fine with us). Our Remy and Palo dinners stayed on the same nights. All our port adventures disappeared, and they have yet to load them for the new ports.

I wonder if it is because they are keeping travel groups together in the event of needing to quarantine.

They totally cancelled Remy brunch on my 2 sailings in September (Dream and Fantasy 4-nights). I sure hope that does not continue - it's a highlight of any cruise for us.
