7 month window opening - Phone or email best?

I called yesterday at 9:35 and was on hold for 10 minutes.

We got our BWV 1 bedroom, they had a standard for all but one night, and offered to waitlist, but I figured with 2 little ones who will nap, its always nice to have a decent view, so I went with the preferred view.

We're waitlisted for 10/3-10/7. We're renting pts from a friend. Should we just wait to see if the waitlist comes through or should I ask him to possibly call again to see if there is any availability?
