Ok so I have room booked for VGF but thinking of changing to BWV fot the first week of November......4-10 to be exact. What are my chances for that at the 7 month window?

You won't know until you try, it depends on the rooms size and category.

I guess that would help. Would love a boardwalk view studio. Reason I ask cause I think it's during food and wine

Chances are likely low and be prepared to wait list to have any chance. BWV (any view) can be difficult at 7 months out almost any time during the last quarter of the year, and boardwalk view is near impossible during that quarter. And you have a second barrierr beyond just the high demand quarter. Your time includes Thur Nov 5 to Sun Nov 8, which is one of the extremely high demand weekends of the year. That weekend in 2014 was one of the rare times that even SSR was unavailable for a night (the Fri) at 7 months out. Probable reasons: it is the last weekend of Food & Wine, the F&W race is on the Sat, it is part of Jersey week, and park Christmas decorations begin as does Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party.

I think you'll have a fairly decent chance of getting a BW view. You will have to be available to book the minute you are able to do so. I was able to book almost the entire Thanksgiving week this year at seven months in a one bedroom BW standard view. You'll surely get a garden view / water view if a BW view isn't available. Then you can wait list.

That's the last week of Food and Wine. Chances are low for a studio. No studios are currently available for all the dates. There is a 1 bedroom pool/garden view.

Are BWV studios completely booked for late Oct too or does it still show any availability? We are in the process of purchasing there But won't have the points untilid to late Feb-just curious if it is completely booked already-wouldn't even mid trading into WL or BLT at 7 mo but I know that's dicey too at that time of year

Standard view studios are pretty much soldout from 10/1 to 11/15, there are some scattered dates. BW view studios are about 50% dates soldout. Pool/Garden does have more availability but some nights soldout.

1 bedrooms have some nights soldout for standard and boardwalk views. Pool/Garden is available.

Thanks-I figured standard view was definitely out good to know there is still some hope for BW or pool/garden view-we only bought a small contract so wouldn't have enough for a 1 bedroom

What are you basing the "fairly good chance" on? What you booked? The one bedroom at Thanksgiving was easier to get because it was a one-bedroom villa (more points than a studio) and during a holiday weeks (more points than early November). DVC members (by and large) like to spend as few points as possible.

OP, there's an outside chance you might be able to swing a few nights in a pool/garden view studio. But as PPs have said, there are many factors that make that week VERY popular at BWV, so you might find it completely sold out at the seven-month window.

And chances are she was just lucky. Someone cancelled, rooms went into inventory, and voila, there were there for her.

Without a repeated statistical sample, you really don't know. I know someone who won $30M in the lottery - it was easy. They bought a few tickets over a fairly brief period of time and were suddenly millionaires.

We can't get real statistics, we can develop information by watching and collecting anecdotes, and that information says "not impossible, but also not very likely."

I guess ill just have to wait till April 4...im sure if its sold out my wife will b happy cause she loves staying at the VGF......my goal is a week at BWV and Week at AKV.......Have my rooms booked at VGF so im safe no matter what

That's also around Wine and Dine so I agree with those saying it will be tough to get. You won't get a BW view studio. You probably won't get any studio. Maybe a one bedroom.

Too bad we can't do a room swap. I'm at BWV Oct 26 to Nov 21 and will be looking to try and switch a week of that to a monorail resort.

I am a owner and part of that week is already sold out. But people might cancel at 7 month mark to switch. I would be ready right when it's time to look.

You would have no problem at all...

Except its Jerz Week... And DVC has become pretty much spoiled for that week no matter where you want to go...
Like last weeks meat

My in laws tried to get a two bedroom at the first possible second at 7 months last year...and we're shut out everywhere except AKL, ssr, and OKW...

Take it for what it's worth. The combination of a flimsy excuse to fly from Newark, laguardia, and Philly and food and wine festival is too much temptation to resist...

I think this will be a tough one in any category for Nov4-10 that's wine and dine marathon weekend, the last weekend of wine and dine.................

I guess I'll just have to give it a shot and hope for the best. Worst case (did I just say that) we stay with or reservations at VGF lol. We r planning to run the 5k and I'll be running the half
