7 month window chances?!?!

Hello all this is my first post on here and I have a question with the 7 month window for booking at a resort that is not yours. I have bought my timeshare at Saratoga and love it there. The problem I am worrying about is we have friends going to the BCV at the end of June and was hoping to book at Saratoga and then call in November at the 7 month window and try to get 10 nights at BCV. How successful are people at getting the resort they want 7 months out. Although I do not plan on doing this often this time I am concerned. Thanks for any help and experience with this!!

Welcome to the DIS DVC FORUMS!

BCV is one of the smaller resorts and it is very, very popular - that means it is hard to get in at 7 months. It will be even harder to get a 10 night stay at 7 months.

Book your home resort at 11 months and then try to switch at 7 months. Waitlist if you can't get what you want at that time. You might get lucky! If not, you'll just have to meet up with your friends at one of the parks, a restaurant or water park. Good luck!

When you call right at the 7 month mark, you have the best chance. 10 days is a long time and BCV is a small resort. However, I have gotten a few days at BCV in August at 7 months.

It also depends on what size room you want as well. What you can always do is book as many nights as you can and then wait list the rest.

Thanks for the replies, I would only need a studio so I'm not sure if thats good or not. I would imagine the BWV would be easier to get if I could not BCV but that is only a guess. So if I could not get the BCV I could book at BWV and just go on a waiting list???

Yes, you can and BWV will definitely be easier to get than BCV. And, yes, you would book and then wait list.

Studios and 2-bedrooms usually book up before 1-bedrooms. There should be more availability at BWV since its bigger. But 10 nights consecutively can be hard almost anywhere at 7 months.

ya I figured that so I will hopefully get 7 nights at either BCV or BWV and then just move somewhere for 3 nights. Trying two different properties on this trip wouldnt be the end of the world I suppose lol.

For BCV a lot depends on time of year. You mention end of June. The later in June the lower the chances because you are getting close to extreme demand time around July 4, and if what you mean is that you also want time in early July, then you are looking at a very difficult time to get at 7 months out. For that time, you could also have difficulty for BWV preferred pool/garden view.

I would be suprised if you could get 10 straight days @BCV at the end of June at 7months, that doesn't mean you shouldn't try.
