7 Month Window Booking Question

Which resort is the hardest to get at the 7 month window and fills up the fastest have you found? Is it WLV, BCV, or the BWV? I have booked at the BWV before at 7 months but not the other two and would like to try WLV if possible at 7 months, but I dont know if my chances are better, worse or the same as at BWV? Any help would be appreciated. Dont want to get my hopes up

It depends on when you want to go and what size unit you want to book.

VWL is especially difficult to book at 7 months anytime between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day. Holiday weeks can be a challenge as well. Most other times are easier, but you should still call as soon as the 7 month window opens. The more members DVC adds, the more difficult it becomes to book at the 7 month mark.

I have ben able to get BCV and BWV(preferred view) at 7 months, but both were the last week in June (not including July 4th). We are owners at OKW and never have a problem getting that resort even for xmas after 11 month window. I agree with previous post that VWL is very difficult for xmas holidays. You didn't ask but HHI is alsmost impossible for late June, July and Early August at 7 months(also April vacations and Easter weeks), we added on at HHI just to have 11 months window for summer. We began to love HHI during xmas weeks and wanted to get to use the beach and ocean. It is still lovely at xmas and we continue to go at that time alternating with summer.

I was able to get both VWL and BCV at 7 months for next summer without even needing to go on the waiting list. I know everything is difficult to get during the Christmas holidays, and the Epcot resorts are difficult to book during F&W. Considering that July and August are so crowded, I thought I'd have trouble booking for then. I was pleasantly surprised to get everything I wanted.

We've been able to book 2BR Sun-Thur of Memorial Day week for the past few years at 7 months out w/o waitlisting. Didn't try for the weekend, however, since we prefer to stretch our points -- and, frankly, 5 nights is enough for my family at HH.

I booked the whole Memorial week, including the weekend, at 7 months in a 2 bedroom. I called day-by-day because I thought it might be difficult to get. I did not have to waitlist for any of the days.

As asked BCV and VWL are likely pretty close due in part to their small size but also that the makeup of points at those 2 resorts is that a higher percentage of members are those that bought specifically to use those points at those resort most of the time. This is actually due to the smaller size but also the timing and situation when they came on board. If you look closer though there are specific situations that vary with the unit type/size and time of year. Here's my feelings on some of those in a lose order from most difficult to least. Many are very close and I couldn't argue with rearranging many of them.

1. AKV concierge
2. BWV GV
3. BWV BW view
4. BWV standard view
5. BCV 2 queens in second BR.
6. HH summer for anything, esp GV.
7. VB Beach Cottage (would move up some of the year).
8. VWL Xmas
9. AKV value
10. OKW GV

The bottom line is that these are things you essentially need the home resort window to be successful most of the time and many you need to call at 11 months on MS opening day by day.

off-season (Mid Jan)? I had never considered this location before but am trying to accomodate several people next year and feel we'll be tripping over each other in a 2 Bedroom.

I booked VWL Dec 26, 2006 through January 2, 2007 and I had no problems. I booked a one bedroom. I called day by day at the 7 month window.

We do not use points for weekends at HHI..way to much. We have once paid for friday night with member discount at xmas which was reasonable. We do sun-thurs regardless of season. That is what most folks with points do there so weekends during the high summer season will usually be the only thing available at 7 months unless it is very early in June or Late in August.

Now I'm getting excited just thinking about it! How's the weather been the past 2 Thanksgivings at HHI? Also, does the resort do anything special for the holiday? Have you cooked a traditional meal there or did you go out?
