7 month window at VWL

Has anyone ever had trouble with booking a 2 bedroom at VWL at the 7 month window?

It depends on the day of the week. We had no problem adding a Friday night and Saturday night (in a 2BR) at VWL, in mid-January. From what the CM said, we were smart to book Sunday to Thursday nights at the 11 month point, since there wasn't availability those days for us to add on at the 7 month point.

Depends on what time of the year you want to visit. November and December are the most difficult to get at the 7 month mark.

I am thinking about the second week in October. I am worried because that Monday is Columbus Day. Do you think it might help if I go ahead and book Sunday and Monday or just Sunday?

Got a studio for May 7th to the 12th at the 7 month with no problem.

I'm confused (which is nothing new for me I might add) Wouldn't 7 months out from October be in March, not Feb?

I think that you should be fine at 7 mo. mark for October...Most people don't look at their calendars until school starts for the kids. I'm going in October, and I haven't booked my 1 bdrm yet. Can't decide on BCV or BWVs this time. I'll make up my mind soon, but there's always the VWLs too!

Well, I wouldn't say that. Most WDW DVC members learn early (sometimes the hard way) that if they don't get their reservations in early, they're as likely as not to end up staying somewhere other than where they want, somewhere other than the their Homes. Having said that, if they haven't made reservations by the 8 or 9 month point, they're probably not specifically waiting to make the reservations just before the 7 month point. They're probably waiting until much closer to their intended trip date.

I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised to learn, that a vast majority of DVC rooms are booked either just after the 11 month point, just after the 7 month point, or within 3 months prior. The rest of the time, again I'm guessing, is probably pretty quiet from a reservations stand-point.

Pixie dust! Many want the Epcot resorts for F&W, but after that, I think people would want VWL for the ease of getting to MK for MNSSHP. I would try right at 7 months. If you have VWL points and can "get" the Sunday now, I would do that.

I needed a Sunday and Monday in October, for just a standard studio for Oct. 22,23, and at 10 1/2 months out, I had to waitlist for the Sunday. So, in your case, the Sunday may be harder to get as well. I was especially surprised because the 22nd is the date of the Members Cruise, and that takes lots of people "out" of the running for that day.
