7 month sucess!

I can't believe it, but today I finished switching my SSR reservation over to the Boardwalk! I managed to get a 2 bedroom and two studios for Halloween week calling day by day at exactly 9am. I really didn't think it was going to be possible, with the number of rooms I needed to secure and with it being food and wine, I'm so happy it all worked out! I don't know if I will ever do it again, because it was really stressful, especially today. I would have hated getting the whole week, but it not working out for our last night! I would say definately after this experience, buy where you want to stay!

I'm so happy for you!

We own at 5 different resorts, and sometimes have to move a studio at the 7 month mark. I'll be trying later this month. DH and I will spend a weekend at BWV Boardwalk view, and I just assumed my DSis would want to be there as well, so I booked her for the Saturday, we are getting there on Friday. The whole family is then gathering at BCV for a stay beginning on Sunday. DSis would rather not move, so I'll be giving up the BW view for a BCV studio if it's available. DH and I are staying put, I want to experience the BW view firsthand!

Congratulations! You're certainly more patient than I ( I can't imagine calling in everyday!). I too changed at 7 months and switched from SSr to BWV, couldn't get boardwalk view(would have had to call daily ), but was able to get a studio, preferred view, for end of September.

We had similar results, but didn't have to resort to day-by-day calling. We're going earlier in October and originally had to settle for VWL at the 7 month window. But we wait listed for BWV and it came through only about a week later.

We booked BWV's in 2006 the same way. We made our reservation at SSR at 11 months out and then booked BWV. I was only booking a 1 BR and had no problem making the switch from SSR to BWV. It is great during the F&W fest - loved it!!!

We are happy with SSR, and have been able to move around fairly easy, but that is still the best advice...buy where you want to stay. Probably why so many people own at a few different resorts, can you really just pick one? Enjoy!

This year we switched from a 1 BR at SSR to a 2 BR at OKW. We have family that wanted to join us, so we went for the 2 BR and it was only 24 more points (1 BR = 152 @ SSR / 2 BR = 176 @ OKW). I tried for BWV Standard View 2 BR = 178, but nothing available.

That's Fantastic! I wanted to do the same thing, but don't want to risk having to change resorts during the stay. We have a 2br and 2 studios at VWL for Oct 14-20th. My family usually loves to stay there, but since we are taking family with us this year with ages ranging from 1 - 75 we thought it might be easier to stay at BCV. I didn't even try to waitlist, since I want to keep all 15 of us at the same resort.

DGP here, and truly we feel most blest when we can bring the DGC and whole family to WDW. We "need" the 11 month window for their villa and then we can fill in at 7 months the ones that we didn't have enough points at. The next whole family vacation includes a BC at VB, we are all excited about that
