7-month availability at Grand Californian

We're BWV owners but thinking about a Disneyland vacation next June during Choice Season at the Grand Californian. Given the relatively low number of units (we'll be looking for a 2BR) how likely is it that we will be able to reserve a week? Anyone have experience booking VGC at the 7-month window? Thanks!

Call right at the 7 month window when the center opens. I reserved a studio two hours after the center opened at the 7 month window. Agent said I had got the last one for my dates. BTW, we had a ball! Room view was phenomenal. It overlooked the park.

GOOD luck. We booked at the grand californian for this october at 7 months right at the opening of the phone lines. Could only get 5 days not a full week.

So we had to resort to staying in palm springs with disney points (oh well lol).

So good luck you will need it.

We got a 2 brd June 2010 for the Sun-Thurs before Father's Day. The whole week was open at the 7 month mark but when we decided to add a day, about the 3 mo mark, it was full.

Guess I will have to be VERY DILIGENT about calling when DVC opens for 7 mos booking at VGC!!!

Thinking of mid August 4 night Disneyland trip and 4 night San Diego trip!

Did the same itinerary 2 summers ago, then first time to California and we ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT! HAD PERFECT WEATHER, WAS AN AWESOME VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If we decide, I would never secure airline before being able to secure a booking at 7 mos...In my opinion, too risky!

In summer 2009, we stayed on Incentive Points at Grand Californian Resort!
Splurged on points and had 2 connecting rooms as we have 2 older DS!!!
Wow, what a beautiful resort! The VGC was just being finished August, 2009!
Looked GORGEOUS! Can't wait to see VGC again!

We booked GCV at the 7 month window for the weekend of New Years for this year and got a one bedroom with no problems. I called the morning of my 7 month window right when they opened. They did not have any studios avail, but I was ok with that.

I have not ever booked at the GC but I have always had luck at the 7 month window. You have to be right on the phone at the opening bell on the day you can book.

We have booked GC 3 different times at less than 7 months. The longest was 3 months. Do a waitlist if it is not available. We got a 2 bdrm last mid-August. I waitlisted in May or June and it came through fairly quickly. Good luck!

Sounds like an AWESOME RESORT! Loved the GC Hotel, so know we'll love VGC!!!!!

Will probably do 4 night VGC and 4 nights San Diego or instead 4 nights Huntington Beach!

It may be harder to get a reservation at 7 months for next summer, as Cars Land is tentatively supposed to open up then.

As always, it's probably best to call right at 7 months.

But, that being said, we've booked 2 trips at less than 7 months, for a 2BR, with only one problem. Once, we got the dates we wanted, no problem. This last May trip, we decided to add an additional day, and we had to waitlist....but it came through without a problem!

We own at VGC, and we absolutely love it! Have a great time!
