7 mantras for peaceful holiday travel

I think we should do this all year round. I do have a problem with the one about helping others put their luggage in the overhead bin. If you can't get it up there you shouldn't expect others to help you.

I like that list. It's always good to remember to be kind to others. I agree that no one should expect people to help them put a bag up or whatever. But, I think the point of that item on this list is to remind us that helping a stranger who is struggling is a good work we may be able to perform. I didn't read it as saying anyone should expect it. But, if we can help we should, I think. (maybe a little sprinkling of pixie dust for the holidays would be OK over here?)

I based my comment on some of the thoughts that have been posted here on the DIS. I would be happy to help someone if I could but not if they demanded it as some have done on here.

What a nice list. And though I would politely ask for help, I do have to depend on others to help me with the overhead luggage - I'm just too short! ;)

I agree with them except maybe saying happy holidays all year long :) They may look at you funny (or just funnier in my case ;) )

I work with the general public and I know how they can act (sadly it's more how they DO act) so I'm always friendly to people that are helping me at gates / check in counters / check points etc etc..

I have helped people before that looked like they were having some issues, but I do agree, if someone TELLS me to help them I may not be as willing :)
