7 Days Left - but can we make it out of NC?

We leave in 7 days for our trip, however there is a gas crisis in our city - Charlotte and surrounding suburbs (see link if interested): http://www.charlotteobserver.com/100/story/213482.html


Needless to say I'm a bit nervous that we won't be able to find gas next week. Right now I'm sitting on 3/4 of a tank which will get me to work and back through next week but not sure if I'll be able to fill 'er up before our trip. Maybe I should ask my manager if I can take off work until next Thursday, so I can conserve the gas for our drive to Disney.
Unfortunately that's not an option.
So my question is - has anyone from the southeast driven to FL recently? Is there gas to be had a long the way? Is there gas in Orlando?

We're in Raleigh- all the gas stations have gas around here.

I think as long as you can get out of Charlotte, you will be okay! My dh also heard last night, that large shipments will be coming today. We leave Sunday! The car we plan on driving has a full tank and will sit in the driveway till then. Thank goodness I work 2 miles from home!

we drove home on Saturday Sept 20 and there was not a gas shortage. The prices were higher in north carolina. We noticed the price increase both to and from disney. But once out of North Carolina the price was avg again. We drove from PGh to disney. We spent about $250 on gas for the whole trip.
