Hi everyone - we are off to WDW Florida on New Years Eve for 8 days (staying in All star movies) and i have a few questions that i need help with.
This will be our second time with the kids (5 and 2) to WDW so have a rough idea what to expect but wanted to check a few things with you all.
Q - When you hire the large double buggies (strollers) is there some way to get a weekly pass for them or do you have to pay the daily rate each time you hire one? And what to do when you swap parks during the day? We took our own last time as the kids were 2 years and 9 months then so have no idea about them.
Q - Places to eat during the Epcot fireworks - we sat in Japan last time munching on sushi (very yummy) and it was great as we had a lovely view without the scarey noises! Just wanted to know if there were any other places which maybe the kids would eat at too lol (they are not big sushi fans!)
Q - Character dinning - what's your favourite? We have been to Grand Floridan for a late breakfast and loved it as the kids were little and it wasn't too much for them but as they are a bit older now just wanted to know of any others that would be more suitable for them and can you still book them from the UK?
Q - Pre checking in at Gatwick - has anyone done this? We only live an hour or so away from Gatwick and are planning to do the twilight check in the day before to make sure we have 4 seats together and so that we can cut down on the waiting time on the day - don't think the kids (or our sanity) will cope with 3 hour wait at Gatwick and then the 8ish hour flight to Orlando!
Last Q (honest) - when to tell the kids? We have been super super good and not said a word to them and they have no idea that we are going on holiday or to Disney. They have been so excited with birthdays, 19th and 22nd December and then with Christmas itself that we thought that we'd wait until 27th and tell them but i'm begining to think some calm quiet time to chill for a few days would be lovely (they both wake at 6.30ish asking if its christmas!) Are we be naughty parents not letting them count down or will telling them the day before when we go to do the twilight check be such a surprise that we should keep quiet until then!
Sorry for such the long long list of questions - haven't had the time to plan for it yet so having a small panic moment now!
Happy Holidays from - Hannah, Cliff, Miles and Abby.
