7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

Linda - DH said he would be more than happy to play with the boys. He does love children and is very good with them. I hear ya' about the packing thing. I started yesterday with my first aid kit, etc. that I knew I wouldn't need these last few days and now I'm on to my clothes. DH does his own and then I will do Tori's probably Thursday night. The poor kid is just growing out of her clothes right before our eyes! So every other outfit I put on her doesn't fit anymore but at least I'm getting a nice pile of clothes for a yardsale later this year! LOL!

I will also warn you all - I cry when I get too excited or emotional! Yes, I cry at Extreme Makeover Home Edition when I watch it and A Baby Story! I even cried watching a Perfect Proposal when it was on DCL! Although, I'm not sure if it was because of the proposal or just seeing DCL! hee-hee!! So, who's bringing the hankies?????

I'm going to try the rolling method for our clothes because, although I hate to iron, I hate to wear wrinkled clothes. I am such a fanatic about my laundry folding (yes I have refolded what DH folded!) and what goes on what kind of hanger (Honey, my good cotton shirts go on the heavy rounded plastic hangers, not your wire hangers!) so I really don't want wrinkles!!

I actually have two formals to wear for the f/sf nights. I haven't been able to decide which one I wanted to take, so I'm taking both! DH owns his own tux because of his job and functions we have to attend at times, but my formals (even from last November!) don't fit anymore! Those thirty pounds I lost have cost me a lot of money in clothes but it was worth it! How fun to actually be able to try on lots of dresses for this cruise! I felt like a teenager with all those girls trying on prom dresses! It was really fun!!! I'm really hoping that we get some good pics for the old scrapbook of us dressed up but I'm not really photogenic and I'm very critical of myself in pictures.

I am so very excited and can't wait to meet everyone! :cool1: I feel like Christmas has come early this year and I can't sleep!! Yes, I was up again this morning at 5:30 am and took forever to get back to sleep! It didn't help that I've been going to the chiropractor every day for the last week and a half and I hurt my back again sleeping last night! Had to take a muscle relaxant to get back to sleep but still dreamed of DCL, our new stateroom and new friends we're going to meet! I think I'm driving my DH crazy with all of this but he's ready to go too!!! He's excited about going too but not nearly as much as me! I do LOVE my Disney! ::MickeyMo Okay, who has the tissues???!!!???

Linda... I have the patch for the rocking ship because I get seasick standing on the dock! The drinks will help "BALANCE" me. :drinking1
Bratray's with me! Good thing because Donna had to go and get PREGNANT on me!

Amanda your hubby sounds wonderful. Can you get him to call my hubby?

Okay, eight million things to do, so little time, and I'm sitting here playing around on the DIS board AGAIN. Do your DH/DW's think your as nuts as mine does?????

TERA NO SNOW IN THE FORECAST FOR CASTAWAY CAY !!!!!

Everyone is going to be saying{look at that pack of crybabies}.I'll be right there crying with you all. I cry watching the soaps and forget good byes. MY son says{Mom don't start} before I even take him to the airport. The DH's & DK's will really know for sure that we're crazy  Mine already thinks I am.

Rachel,
With the patch you'll only need two drinks. They're great but they make you feel like you've had ten.I guess the rest of us will need to drink yours. :drinking: :drinking1 Oh Ya! Can I join you & Harris on those chairs? No use starting that walking thing until after the cruise. :confused3 We'll just watch the rest them.

This time next week we'll be on the ship.

Maybe we should all put green mickey's on our carry-ons. Then we''l know each other right away. We could get aquainted while we're in line dying to get on ship.

Debbie

I've been making up luggage tags with the green mickeys for all my family's carry-ons plus I picked up a lime green tie-dyed scarf at Walmart that I'm going to tie onto mine. The DHs will definitely act like they don't know any of us. :earboy2: Emotions are what separate us from the rest of the animal kingdom. Hmmmm....maybe that explains DH. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Debbie, I'll be happy to share my drinks! I need to be coherant to do the Cha Cha slide at castoff with the kiddies.
and I'll make room for you at the chairside milkshake club while the others are excercising. I like your thinking. I'll work it off at home too. In fact, most of you are dieting for the cruise... once again, I have opposite logic....... I'm stretching my stomache this week so I can handle the massive dinners!
Just kidding!

Aahh, I just looked at pictures of Sea Grape/Marriot beaches in Cozumel. I better get off the net and get something done!

:Pinkbounc :cool1:  :earboy2: :bounce:

DH and I finally started some packing using the guest bed method. My foot has been feeling a bit better (9 weeks later!), but I still need to get the MRI results back on Tuesday. We are trying to be optimistic.

I kept looking at the picture of the ship in port all day. :earsgirl:

Hey, you experienced cruisers...it doesn't ever rain, RIGHT??? :sad2: I'm purposely not bringing any raingear. WON'T NEED IT!!
:wave2: Linda[/QUOTE]

Hmmmmmm. ......I guess I won't mention the cruise we took last summer and it was cloudy/rained the whole time :confused3 With all the good luck this group has, we can't lose! :Pinkbounc

I thought the patches give you very dry mouth? Oh well....if you keep doing the two-fisted drinking approach, you'll be just fine :rotfl2:

How many of you have late seating? I'm still trying to figure out how my little ones will make it. We have first seating wait list, but I doubt we'll get it

Woooohooo! This time next Sat we'll be kicking up our heels! :dancer: :rockband: :drinking1

Susie :flower:

Hi all :cool1:
Boy do I feel way behind in posting right now after seeing all the post..My DW has some problems with motion sickness and took Bonine last cruise but after one day got used to the motion of the ocean :rotfl: I was in the Air Force and have worked on many a helicopter and don't have that problem :wizard: When in doubt drink it out..We went to the dreaded Wa;mart supercenter today(yeah I know 100.00 dollars later).. I got me a new cane that folds up..I still have the sore and will have to take it easy on the dancing but, my drinking arm still works fine.. I have been working on finishing up the print outs for the buttons and think 1 more page will do it.. Those without names just ages will have the magic listed as wll as those without a DIS name will ahve the name and the Magic listed..Kids buttons are a little different with som pics on them :earsgirl: :earsboy: I also have 2nd seating and have a table reserve with Lllo62 and hubby. I will pm her and see if she want to get a bigger table...Last time I was the one with too many clothes and the wife is playing catch up :bitelip: 3 bags plus a carry on..James pirate: aaarrrrrhhhhh

DCL made a mistake with our seating and gave us 2nd but had it straightened out right away once the TA called. So, why are you on a wait list???? Can't they just switch it now? I'm just not understanding..... :confused3

I must say y'all'd be proud of little ole me!!! You gave me enough encouragement (okay, we're all OCD!!) to get my packing done....well, Tori took a good nap today (2 1/2 hours) and I got ALL MY packing done! It's just waiting to be rolled up and put in the suitcase. Of course, DH hasn't started so I told him that he'll just be walking around wearing the same clothes the whole trip! No, just get your fanny in gear and lay out your clothes (yes, we are also using the guest room bed....is there really a bed under that mound of clothes?!?!?). So, tomorrow I will start looking at Tori's clothes and hopefully get some cases packed. :cheer2:

Question for those who have cruised before. Tell me about the lifevests that they have you put on (and yes, I will get a picture for bribery!!) for the safety drill. I'm a little confused about how they are supposed to fit little ones. I feel really dumb asking this but Anal Annie here needs to know and yes, does sweat the small stuff!!!

Another question - what's everyone doing in Key West? This is the only place we didn't book a shorex. Thought we'd do a walking tour of our own but don't really know what to see.....Any thoughts?

Well, I'm gonna try to get some good sleep tonight without having to take a pill....wish me luck! Nighty-nite! :wave2:

Susie -
We have late seating, too, with several little ones in our group. Even though it was the only option available by the time we booked, it would have been our choice. We've experienced both early and late seatings (on 4-nighters). As far as the little ones, we've found their "schedule" gets so thrown off that it just didn't matter much. We used room service plenty of times to curb the hunger and sometimes my DD did fall asleep at dinner but we just took her into Flounders (once even without a reservation) and she slept there. Of course, the kids are all a bit older this time so who knows how it will go...

As for Kaykels, my SIL, she's SERIOUS about getting over excited. All I can suggest is STAND BACK! By the DIS meet, she'll be okay.

The Alien Green Mickey Heads on carry-ons at the terminal sounds like a great idea! Our group will also have lime green t-shirts on...no doubt we'll be visible! Gee, maybe we should've just asked DCL to set up a "check-in" table just for the DISers.... :earsboy:

Only FIVE days til we leave!

The vests are big, obnoxious and hot.. They do not blow up so invision the coast gaurd vests but bigger..With second seating which we prefer also we have secured a table for 4 but if Lilo62 wants to I can call DCL and request a bigger table with your names.. James

I told you I wasn't kidding. It happens every vacation! So when you spot the lime green shirts in the front of the line.... Donna, the pregnant one, will be the skinniest one !!! I'll be the one that LOOKS 3 months pregnant.
Hee hee.
Okay, gotta stop. I'm addictied.
James, we're pulling for you buddy. I'm glad to hear your drinking arm is okay. You can join us in the chair sitting milkshake drinking club while the others are excercising.

We'll be the ones with the most kids :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: I don't dress my twins alike too much anymore, but plan to for this cruise......we figured it's easier to spot them in a crowd if we lose one :rotfl2:

Suzie...I hope your back is doing beter today :goodvibes James... glad to hear things are a bit better for you! Jott....pulling for you too! :goodvibes
Is there someone else with an ailment that I forgot??? I am the only nurse in the group I guess? I am bringing my blender for medicinal purposes. I'll fix you all right up

People have mentioned that late seating is really OK. We just have always had early when cruising with the kids. As usual, they could care less for sure (maybe hardly even dine with us), it's me obsessing about it :rotfl: Would love to hook up with any/all of you guys. However....Our family takes up six seats, and I certainly wouldn't want to rain on anyone's parade if they are cruising w/o kiddies! We are game for anything :flower:

Skirted away from Walmart yesterday, just ended up at the mall instead! Dh found a great piece of new luggage at the Flea Market.....It's really large. Was lying in bed this am now wondering if it's TOO big. (The standard rectangular type, but big) Don't think it will fit underbed. How large are the closets? We have an outside room with a verandah....anyone know?

Bonine has always worked for me as well. Usually take it the first day :p or 2, but then forget to take it. Have never had a problem (knocking on wood

It's not sunny Florida here today. Rain forcast here is 80% :umbrella:

6 days to go for us :cheer2: :Pinkbounc
Susie :flower:

You all Must Be VERY excited.. first Cruise or 8th cruise we Still feel the excitement..

Just Wanted to Say Have a Great Trip..

We Are Right after You, Bring Her Home Safe But most Of all Enjoy You Vacation.. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc pirate:

Susie...I was wondering the same thing about suitcases. We have one really great suitcase that's extremely large and then has a zipper to expand even further. Our last trip to WDW, the porter named it "Bagzilla". I hate having to take a whole bunch of smaller bags. At this point, besides Bagzilla, we're probably bringing two other smaller suitcases and each of us will have a carryon. There are four of us and the boys wear adult sizes. What I usually do after I unpack is store all the other cases inside each other, within Bagzilla. Wouldn't it be nice to be independently wealthy and either have someone do all the packing for you or just buy things as you need them. ;) Yeah...right!!!
:wave2: Linda

Ok..
Us DH's do read this board, (although in clandestine operations so that we look like we are not that excited).

For all of us DH's (heaven knows it took me just long enough to figure out what that even meant). Some of us have to keep it sane, or all of us shall lose it. It is becoming very tough to keep the DW from pulling her hair out (at least the parts that havent fallen out). We are ready for the cruise, well almost if you dont count the fact that all the actual packing has to be done.

The driving and the flying will be done (well not the flying) by the DH's, so we must get our sleep and dont want to be seen bouncing off the walls.

:hourglass Time is ticking... cant wait.

To all of of the DW's out there:

Least of all we dont want to be seen bouncing off the walls: :bounce:

Hang in there all the ship will be waiting and we cant wait to see each other.

One of you is my DW....maybe I will soon tell whom..

Cant wait to warm up: :sunny:

Hmmmm.....I have to do some thinking here. Don't know you all too well yet to guess the indentity. What I do know is it's NOT my DH :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

I know you guys are excited too :cool1: OH.......I GET IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The DH's are holding back your excitement b/c you have a great MOTHER's DAY bash planned for us :Pinkbounc  :rotfl: :love1:

Whoever you are...thanks for coming forward. BTW.....are you a closet OCD?

Susie :flower:

Ah but luck has nothing to do with it. Without all of the DW's out there
how would us DH's survive. Sitting around the house and watching TV with
a beer in each hand, life couldnt be more grand.

But I do believe we all shall see, that playing with the Mouse :earsboy:
is really the way to fly.

I guess leaving my skis at home is a must. Looking forward to the pirate
outing pirate:

Anyway back to my TV, shh the DW is packing like crazy. I do help though
just like all of us DH's by doing the one thing that a DW really really desires..

WE STAY OUT OF THE WAY !!!!

WEEE HAHA only a few more days left, I see it is raining in the port now
so all of you florida folks better get with the weather real soon.
I dont plan on bringing by umbrella... :umbrella:

We are still contemplating if we should leave the DK's (that would be Darling Kids) behind..

See ya soon...

I was thinking my suitcase was too big too - but then I started packing it!!! We bought a "nesting" set. My plan is to unpack, put everything in the biggest and stick them all under the bed. We'll see... :goodvibes

Does anyone know if the ship does anything special for Mother's Day? We have lunch planned with friends/family in Key West. As far as Key West goes, just head down Duval Street. Lot's of great shopping and bars! ;)
If you want a city tour, I prefer the "conch train."
This time next week we'll BE in Key West!!! :cool1:
