7 day Western - May 7, 2005???

If you like to iron so much, I would be more than happy to supply you with items...hee-hee.....my momma always taught me to share...just didn't teach me to iron! I HATE to iron my clothes - isn't that what the wrinkle release setting is for on the dryer?! ;) You remind me of my best friend from Palm Harbor - she loves to do laundry and iron! We were just made for each other, ahhhhhhhhhh........

Suzie (the other one)[/QUOTE]

I do really like to iron, but I hate the laundry part. Ironing is therapy for me :teeth: I am embarrased to admit it, but I even iron my scrubs
I have been doing the math here.....6 people, 2 outfits a day (day and night) x 7 days = 84 outfits :faint:

I think I need a drink...

Ok everybody,
Get this I went to the doctor for my hip, which turns out to be my back. She said all the muscles are tight and caused sciatica. She gave me shots and I need to go back on Monday for more.( Now comes the funny part). It's because I get to stressed with packing and getting ready for my vacation. :rotfl:

Debbie :wave2:

Awwwww Debbie :sad2: That must be so painful. I had sciatica while pregnant with my twins. It was awful. Ok, ok....bring your ironing to me, I'll do it for you.
Susie :bitelip:

Hello to all our new members! Can't wait to meet all of you! :flower:
My DH picked up several shades of the mickey head from Home Depo, so I think I'll put "gamma sector green" on my carry on bag. If you spot it, please say hi - we can chat while we're waiting to board!!! :goodvibes

I decided to keep youngest DD home from preschool next week, just to be on the safe side. There seems to be a yucky flu going around. You guys may be O.C. packers, but I'm a worry wort. I promise I'll relax once I'm on board - just get us there!!! ::yes::

Summer clothes have been located (and for sure, I don't need them here at home  ) so.... hi hi, hi ho, it's off to pack I go.........

Susie, I FOUND the summer clothes but I didn't get to the formal dress yet! I'll squeeze that in there in between 5 appointments, work, school, kids, lessons, etc, etc. Like I said before, I need to catch some of that OCD

Harris... want to grab a chair on deck with a milkshake while we watch the walkers club go by? No sense in unfolding my gym clothes NOW.

Debbie... I can relate.... everytime I book a vacation I get extremely sick the week of (from nerves and excitement) The week of the my first cruise and my first stay at the AKL I was doubled over in pain and couldn't straighten up. I almost went to the hospital. And it was my hubby's 40th b.day, I got him Sixers tickets and sat slumped over the seat moaning. He wasn't THRILLED. I get a touch of that EVERYTIME. The week of my wedding I was convinced I had the flu and possibly a broken spine. Hee hee. :rotfl2:

okay... now I have find the luggage. (Baby steps) Can I count on the OCD clan for the hairspray and toothpaste that I'm going to forget?

We just decided tonight that we are staying at the Wilderness Lodge the night before. We are arriving in Orlando hopefully around 11am (after 20 hours in the car). We were going to stay at the port but the rates are sky high.
SEE YA IN A FEW DAYS. I'll be the one with a look on my face like I forgot to pack something but I'm not quite sure what it is ~~ :confused3

WE HAVE A WEEK TO GO!!!

Since we live so close to the port (only an hour), we won't be leaving til Sat am. Maybe I should thank my lucky stars I don't have to travel for an extended period to get there with this clan? Also, having all the packing I have yet to do, I need all the time I can get?? :smooth:

Been up since 6am....packing, here I come!!!

Susie :sunny:

Yes, Suzie, I too am a compulsive ironer. I even iron my boy's t-shirts. Even when they were little, I always said that they should arrive places looking neat, what happens after that...I'm not responsible. I've got all of my clothes together and hanging on hangers at this point. (Once they've been ironed, don't want them to wrinkle :) ) Next Friday, I'll start the rolling and stuffing into big ziplocs. Rolling works SO much better than folding. The ziplocs keep everything together and fitting into the suitcases better plus they keep everything clean and dry in case of leaking toiletries. Can we all possibly obsess anymore? I'm wearing a black glittery tank top, jacket combo over these black funky double layer of sheer fabric pants. Odd description...kind of regular pants with almost a long sheer skirt thing over them. This is for the formal night. DH is wearing a nice suit, DSs dress pants, shirts and ties. For semi-formal, I bought a pretty black and white skirt with a black top and white blazer...I think. I'm doing this whole wardrobe...black, white and red so that everything is interchangable. I've got enough clothes ready that if we get stranded for an additional week...no problem. :goodvibes
I started on the boy's stuff but problem is...they are wearing the clothes that they want to take. Next Friday, they have to be naked for the day so that I can get all their stuff together. DH is still in cruise denial.
Any DHs out there who are into playing sports? I've given up on finding any teen boys to go one on one with my guys on the basketball courts...now I'm recruiting men to give my boys a run for their money!
Either we're going to have a nice, small group on this cruise or most of the people haven't found this board. Ahhh...who cares! We have each other. Group hug. :grouphug:
Rainy Saturday in western NJ...better go obsess somemore.
:wave2: Linda

James that picture is awesome. My kids came running out of the bathtub to see it.

Susie... you are so lucky that you have a week until your trip. I'll glady trade you. I'm leaving Thursday BUT I have a 20 hour drive ahead of me (it would have been 18 but Grumpy yells if I'm 1 mile an hour over the limit.) The 3 kids aren't the problem... it's Dopey and Grumpy (DH, DF) that will make it L-O-N-G !!!!!!

SO I'LL BE THE ONE AT THE CRUISE MEET WITH A DRINK IN EACH HAND.

OMG....a girl after my own heart! I was just ironing a couple whitish t-shirts of my boys and thinking they are sure to have these trashed within an hour of putting them on. Oh well....at least I had good intentions :goodvibes A friend of mine told me to roll instead of fold. I was going to do that, but still nervous it won't do as well :rotfl2: If you swear to me it does, I'll take your word for it. Still trying to decide whether to bring a long (but not too fancy) dress for formal night. Ugh...such decisions.

That was a great picture of the ship...Thanks James!

Now for your local weather report.......

FYI.......BEAUTIFUL DAY IN CENTRAL FL. HOT AND SUNNY!!!!!!!!!

Susie :flower:

Susie...my DS17 went to Australia and New Zealand last summer for 3 weeks. He only took only one suitcase and a duffle bag. He had 3 weeks of clothes in those two bags and returned without doing any laundry, with souvenirs for everyone he has ever met in his life, all in those two bags. He is the master of rolling clothes. He had them rolled so tight that I had to pry them out of his bag. It really does work so much better. With shirts, just lie them face down, fold the sleeves in and start at the bottom and just roll very tightly. Actually, I roll outfits together and even fewer wrinkles. I'll put our formal stuff in a garment bag and someone told me to put the clothes in drycleaner bags first and they prevent wrinkles. :confused3 Nonetheless, I'm waiting to put them in the suitcases. My guest room bed looks like Mount Olympus right about now, though. :rotfl2: Good luck!
:wave2: Linda

Rachael,
I'm sure what ever you forget,I'll have it.

Didn't anyone hear of Downy Wrinkle Releaser? :rotfl: It is the best stuff. I alredy have a bottle packed. If anyone needs it.

I always roll my clothes too. It works great. I'm so glad I found this board with all of you O.C.people. I sure helped me surive.

Well back to Target.

Debbie :wave2:

I've used the wrinkle release spray, too. It works pretty well but my favorite trick is to just hang your clothes on hangers in the bathroom when you're showering. The steam is usually just enough for those stubborn packing wrinkles. Of course, the other alternative would be for us all to resign ourselves to the fact that everyone else will be wearing packing wrinkles on their clothes so why should we be different. Ahhh...yes, in a perfect, non-OC world, that is!!! :rotfl2:

Just wondering...I'm a really emotional person and feel like I've gotten to know so many of you already. Anyone else cry because you're just so doggone happy? ::yes::  If so, I'm afraid our meet could be one big cryfest. I don't even want to think about when it's over!
My DH and DSs will act like they don't even know me. :rolleyes1
Any other crybabies?
:wave2: Linda

OMG Linda...I am right there with you! I could cry just thinking about the trip. I AM so THRILLED to be meeting "friends" on board! I am a crybaby of all crybabies. I cry when I'm happy, sad, any sappy movie, book, commercial, any "Mommy" moment, etc etc. I am a NICU nurse (Neonatal Intensive Care) and we go to every delivery and transition the babies. It brings tears to my every at EVERY SINGLE BIRTH! It takes every ounce of strength I have NOT to burst into tears when I have to take the baby back to the unit due to prematurity, illness etc. The parents cry...I cry. I've been a nurse for 23 years....you'd think I'd get a grip! And yes....I'll weep the first day and certainly go ballistic the last. I'll bring the econo box of Puffs, and I'll share with you. You've got my shoulder whenever you need it :umbrella:
Susie :flower:

I don't cry when I'm excited, I throw up. At least Donna will be throwing up with me.... of course, hers is from morning sickness on a rocking boat..... but at least I'll have company.

I'll be the excited one with my head over the rail at the cruise meet.Oh, but I'll still have a drink in each hand too.

rachel- you have the same sense of humour as me- your post always have me laughing- i too will have a drink in each hand....why...just because i want to :)

5 DAYS TODAY!!!

Rachel...let me see if I have this right...excitement makes you throw up  :crazy2: ...but a rocking boat, ooops...ship :boat: , and 2 drinks :drinking1 :drinking1 won't??? :rotfl: Hey, whatever it takes!!! What a group we are!!! :grouphug:
We're having a miserable, rainy day today and both boys are off playing sports. Hardcore soccer and lacrosse. DH is with DS13. Momma doesn't do rain!!! :umbrella:
Hey, you experienced cruisers...it doesn't ever rain, RIGHT??? :sad2: I'm purposely not bringing any raingear. WON'T NEED IT!!
:wave2: Linda

Note to self - avoid Rachel when she is excited. :)

I got my semi-formal outfit delivered the week and it fits great! And DH surprised me this morning with a Tiffany Necklace for formal night! This is the first Tiffany's piece I own - and hopefully not the last ;)

We are starting to pack - I have a shopping list a mile long it seems of things to get before we go!

~Amanda

Wow... I feel like I've been slacking the past few days since I've missed so many posts.

Suzie - Congrat's on the upgrade. Maybe they could upgrade US to your old stateroom ;)

I've got our big suitcase all packed, zipped and ready to go. The smaller one will have the last minute tolietries and be ready to go. I even have the clothes we're wearing the day we fly laying out :goodvibes We've got our ride to the airport all lined up and we're just counting down the days :cool1:

The snow we had yesterday is mostly melting, but they are saying we'll get more tonight. These are the days I hate living in Colorado :guilty: I see it's 81 at Cocoa Beach and just keep thinking we'll be there soon enough.
