7 day Lighting Lane booking when out at sea?

We will be going to WDW after our cruise. 7 day booking time we will be on our cruise with some days out to sea.

Has anyone had any experience booking their LL choices. (Not the premiere LL)?

The DCL Navigator has a link to other Disney websites that can be used without purchasing WiFi on the ship. I had limited success getting the link to the DVC site to work on my recent Dream cruise, though.

If you are in port, you might be able to get data access on your phone for less than the cost of WiFi.

If you will be at sea, you can try accessing the WDW site in advance to see if it works for you and, if it doesn't, you'd have to get WiFi. I am not sure if you need to purchase for all of the remaining days of your cruise or if you buy just 1 day.

These are your choices in the navigator app. They didn’t work for me last month on the fantasy. Wouldn’t load without buying WiFi.

Bottom line - if it's super important to you, buy WiFi (I'd go with at least the middle option) at least for that day.

Even then, while it's improved, shippernet is still shippernet and is not as stable as Wifi on land. It could work well, but depending on satellite and ship positions it could be slow.

So not to be a naysayer…but isn’t LLMP booked thru the MDE app, not the website? Non-US and non-Canada aren’t able to book without a VPN. That may also impact being out of the US on a cruise.

I have had both MDE and the DL version work without an internet package to book dining reservations while on a Disney Cruise. This was before the starlink internet too when it was even harder to connect when at sea. Just check the app while you are in airplane mode once you board to see if you can book a random Disney dining reservation and if it does you should be able to do LL too later. If it won't work I would buy the internet access the day your booking window opens.

I bought the WiFi last month on the magic and had no problem with the app.

When I was on the Fantasy in July 2024 I was unable to book LLs. I had to have a friend at home book them for me. I tried using a VPN but MDE requires location to be enabled to buy LLs, so that didn’t work.

PS....MDE worked fine on the trip...it was just the actual purchase of LLs that was blocked because location wasn't in any country.
