7/9/09 on the Wonder!

We are taking our first cruise on the July 9 Wonder also. :cool1:
(I have no idea what a fish extender list is??) :confused3

I've learned a lot about FEs since I first posted this....but wondering if anyone else will sign up on this meet board? It's only 7 weeks away...........

LOL, I think it just the two of us!! :)

Hello, I just got off the Magic on Saturday and thinking about booking this cruise with a friend I made on the Magic! I will let you know if we book! What kind of rates did ya'll get (if you don't mind me asking?)

Me too! ... Although AbsyBabsy and I are sharing a room on this cruise and I don't know how we'd hang two FE's from the same fish, but I'm up for an exchange. Even a small group of 4 could be fun. With that few cabins participating, maybe a daily exchange would work. And maybe a quick meet before the Muster Drill? Let us know!

PS - Narnia Girl, I see you have a DD8! So do I and Amanda (AbsyBabsy) has a DD9. Maybe they'd like to meet up, too.

Rose :)

Hello! I'm glad our group is growing!! It's coming up so fast! This is our first cruise so we're learning as we go.

I'm sure my daughter would love to meet some other girls to play with. She's looking forward to the Oceaneers Lab.

Hey gang, are we all onboard for Fish extenders? Do ya'll want to meet at 3pm in the promenade lounge? If so, perhaps we can all bring and activity for the girls to do. I cannot remember if it was Jeanne Marie or Gina that brought foam hats and soda covers to decorate but it was a great idea - the girls all sat together and played while getting to know each other.

I'm in with the FEs! Will we do them daily or just once or what?

grapevine and absy...if you are sharing a room, I can just double up everything I put in there and the girls could divide it. I'll try to make it identical.

Our FE is probably going to be a Pirates of the Caribbean gift bag unless I get really inspired in the next few weeks. This also is a nod to my boys who love the movies.

I think we can meet at 3 p.m. also. I haven't mentioned this to my husband, but I can't imagine it would be a problem. He can always pop in to say hi and take the boys on to other adventures if the girls want to play.

(BTW...am I the only one with boys coming along?)

Hey Gang!

We will be joining you all on this sailing, just booked today.

Me, dh, dd17, dd15, dd13, dd8, dd6 and ds6.

We live close to port, this will be our 17th Disney Cruise but just the fourth time on the Wonder! (We are doing this back to back with the July 5th sailing), and just booked in two category 12 guarantees. Haven't done an inside room before, but as long as we are on the ship, we don't care!

If it's not too late for us to join the FE fun, please let me know, my kiddos love it.

My kids love to make new cruise friends, so hope to meet everyone!

I'd like a list of who's coming/included in our group.

Not too late! The more the merrier! We are meeting at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge - See ya there!

We will see everyone at the meet onboard! I am unsure when we will have room assignments we are still showing up category 12 guarantees so may not know room numbers until then.

NarniaGirl, thanks for organizing the FE list :)

If anyone is planning on doing the Disney Channel Star stuff (autographs, pics, etc.) would love to maybe coordinate hanging out for this in case there is any crowds or waiting involved I rather hang with other Dis people. I don't really know anything about it but I am sure that my dd8 and dd6 will want to see the stars. Does anyone have a clue what to expect?

Mainly we are just relaxing on this cruise.

You're welcome.
I don't have any idea of what to expect but I'm sure my DD would love to have a friend or two to hang with when that stuff is going on. She's excited and wants to get autographs and yet at the same time, she's too shy to approach them. I'm sure a group effort would suit her. :cutie:

And I want to relax, too! :cool2:

Hi, all! What a great little group we have now ... This is a "girls only" trip for my DD8 Gina, AbsyBabsy (Amanda), and her DD9 Abi. My two boys, DS14 Eric and DS11 Patrick, will be at church camp that week and my DH David is working overtime on a couple of big projects at work (although he's on salary, so that just means more work for the same pay!). So, it's just the girls doing the DCL and going to see Corbin Bleu! It's a surprise trip, so we are keeping it a secret from Gina and Abi. They just think that we are visiting for the weekend ... Little do they know!

Jeanne - Wow! Six girls ... I am the oldest of three girls and there sure was drama in our house growing up. Can't imagine what yours is like sometimes, although your son certainly will know everything he needs to know about women by the time he's ready to date! I can see why you cruise so often - It's a wonderful chance to relax, both with the kids and without!

We were just assigned our stateroom, #2105, a Cat 10 (nice upgrade from our Cat 12 GTY). So maybe if anyone is still in GTY, they will get their stateroom # soon. Just keep checking! Since there are two families cruising in our one cabin, Amanda and I will either share pockets on one FE (we'll label them) or we'll have two separate ones hanging under each other. So it looks like we have five families cruising. Do we want to do just one gift for the whole cruise or one per day? With such a small group, one per day would only be a total of 12 (3 days x 4 other families) gifts. With only two weeks to go, maybe that's too much to get together? I'm not sure ... But let's decide soon so we can start working on them!

I'm not sure what to expect with all the meet and greets for autographs and pictures, but it's going to be fun finding out! I hope there won't be too much waiting in lines, although this is a different kind of cruise - How often do you get to meet some of your favorite tv/movie stars? I just wonder if we'll need earplugs for all the screaming kids!

So 3 PM in the Promenade Lounge is the time and the place - Sounds like fun. We'll see you there!

I love that you are surprising the girls!

What a nice upgrade to a cat 10! We are still showing guarantee 12s, so who knows. I'm not even sure if we will get luggage tags in time since we booked yesterday :) We will already be on the ship for the prior Wonder cruise and have to disembark by 9 so if there are upgrades to be had we might try to pay at port since we will be there already!

Our fish extenders look so raggy and yuck! Been used 3 times this year and need to make it through one more trip :)

We are up for whatever anyone else wants to do in terms of FE. It will be nice to have a small group.

Not much drama at my house, but tons of laundry and noise. My oldest dd is in college out of state and dd17 goes off to college out of state in August. They grow quickly!

We are on late dining, what does everyone else have? We are wait listed for main dining but don't really care since it's a short cruise.

My kiddos are dd17 (18 on cruise) Kayti; dd15 Kelsey; dd13 Emily; dd8 Chloe; dd6 Bella; and ds6 Nick!

Happy thoughts to everyone,

My son, Andrew (18) just returned from church camp! And I completely understand about the more work/no more pay...my husband is having a meeting at work today about whether he should/will bring his laptop onboard to keep up from there! :headache:

We booked a Cat 12 GTY and were upgraded to sideways Cat 11s. So our staterooms are 6003 and 6007. We will only have one FE hanging there, on the children's door, but I'm not sure which room that will be yet. It's a Pirates of Caribbean gift bag. I finished shopping for FEs today. I think we will give out FE gifts each day.

Our oldest goes off to college this fall. It's about to break my heart! :sad1: He'll also be out of state, about 6 hours away. This cruise was partly his Graduation gift and partly our 20th anniversary celebration.

We also have late dining.

We are:
Me: Sandi
DH: Rick
DS 18: Andrew (everyone calls him Sunshine)
DS 14: Christian
DD 8 : Caroline

edited to add: you'll probably be able to spot us easily since Andrew (Sunshine) wears a bandana headband every where he goes (hence the symbol below for him.) He and my DH are both well over 6' tall.
