Just back from a highly anticipated first cruise with DH 33, DD 5 and DS6.
Stayed in Cat 8 room 6020. The room was great - the location was good and we used the stairs to get to most of the boat.
We stayed 3 nights at AKL prior to the cruise. Got upgraded from a standard view to a Savannah view! the hotel is amazing and waking up to giraffes 100 feet away from the balcony was so wonderful. Went to MK on the 4th and we went on a lot of rides. It was packed - but manageable with fast pass. Ate dinner at Cinderella's Table and while the food was nothing special the atmosphere was fun. Watched the fireworks from the boatdocks outside the park and they were great - 360 degree surround sound! And we were the first few to the bus stop and got back to AKl within 20 minutes of the fireworks.
We got to the port around 1:15 and the line for boarding went pretty slow. Some lines had 2 people working and some had 1 - we moved to a 2 person and it went smoother. I guess no one had documents filled out, because it took us about 3 minutes to get checked in while others were with the attendents for about 15 minutes.
We boarded and had our name called out - I went to make Palo reservations and the rest of the family went to the stateroom to dump off too many carry-ons. No line for Palo - Wed. night was sold out, but I got Monday night (our PC night and the night at Nassau) so I was happy. Went to the stateroom and the basket I ordered from Disney was there. Our stateroom host, June, was terrific.
The Sail away party was fun. My kids were getting a bit over stimulated and had a melt down so we relaxed in the room a short bit before early dinner. Putra and Pearl were our servers and were also great. We honestly didn't come across one bad CM the entire trip. WE ate at Animator's Palate the first night and were seated by ourselves. The food was good the whole trip. Not great but good. Desserts were not that good - with the exception of Palo where all 3 desserts our waiter brought us were unbelievably good (especially the famous souffle).
