this is one of those vacations where you want it to be the best one ever, for me i'm my usual excited self about going, i love all the planning and figuring but this is going to be our last trip traveling as a family. my dd is entering a religious order next fall and will not be available to go cruising anymore, at least not for a long while, and my ds is also off on a religious vocation but he may have more availibility than dd but we all feel the same about going anywhere one short, so i planned a dilly of a last trip. we will hopefully leave on 7-1-04 and do three nigths at the port orleans, riverside, our favorite hotel, while there ds will take the behind the magic tour as he likes to know all the ins and outs of everything, dd and i will maybe take in typhoon lagoon or something, of course we'll be doing the parks, then we're off on 7-4-04 to sail on the wonder, anyone going then also? after we get off the wonder its back to the riverside to stay two nights and finish up at the parks, then its goodbye to walt disney world and onto the magic for the seven day eastern, roll call here?? i know we'll have a great time but i can't help but feel sad as our traveling days come to an end. we've been going to disney for 15 years together and i am very happy that we were able to enjoy so many happy times together, i guess i'm just getting old and not looking forward to the dreaded "empty nest syndrome". well anyway as long as we eat light during the cold winter months and stick to our ambitious saving schedule we will hopefully reach our goal and it will be well worth it. boy talk about rambling on. also i just wanted to say how much i enjoy reading these boards, thanks everyone for listening to me.

tigger53,
I feel your pain. I have been a single mom to my daughters since they were 2 and 3. My eldest went off to college this fall - 2000 miles away and my youngest is taking this year to work before going off to college next fall. They have been the center of my universe for the past 20 years. I dread Empty Nest.
Enjoy the time that you have and have a fabulous vacation. I have a feeling the respite( from family trips) will not last that long. If I just utter the letters DCL, we all begin furiously planning...

Take care of each other,
Dawn Hope
