We have everything planned out but are waiting on these two dates for the following to open up for reservations: Pirates and Pals and Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland. Are we crazy for thinking it will open up? How soon til they do if it is offered? It's killing us because we're getting so close and our FP scheduling is right around the corner too.

We already have dinner plans on both evenings, but are willing to shuffle if we need to in order to get one or both of the above. 7/3 We're torn on dinner - we have a 5:00 Boathouse (amphicars before if we keep it) or 7:10 at Yachtsman. 7/4 we're eating at Whispering Canyon (7pm) - we have a car, but were thinking of boating over to "accidently" view the fireworks from the boat on the way to MK. Thoughts? Is there a better dining spot to view from?

Also - currently planning on Epcot on 7/3 and 7/4 at MK. (opposite of the EMH hours at each park) Is that crazy too?

The Beach at the Polynesian Resort offers a great view
of Wishes and other MK Fireworks shows.

You can see the MK fireworks shows very well from the TTC

(and they pipe-in clear, crisp audio from the show.)

Note: you are not allowed to stand directly in the actual Ferry loading area.

You can see them from the boat-dock and an outside

observation deck near Narcoossee's restaurant at the Grand Floridian.

The Narcoossee's Deck shown is now reserved only for guests of the restaurant.

Good viewing from the Gasparilla Grill Patio overlooking the Marina.

The sound of the show is piped into these areas too.

At the Contemporary, there is viewing on an outdoor

observation area on the 4th floor.

The California Grill observation areas are reserved for patrons that day of the Grill or Bar.

(The audio of the fireworks show is also piped in to these locations.)

At Wilderness Lodge, the "secret place" to watch the MK fireworks is from the

northern area of the Cast Member (CM) Parking Lot. (No Audio)

At the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds Marina (angle shown on the map below,) some of the view (especially of the "Fantasyland" pyro) is blocked by the now unused Discovery Island in Bay Lake and by the high-rise buildings of the Contemporary Resort.

But, the view from the Ft. Wilderness' sand beach (farther north) is more open.

Still the tree-level can block the views of the lower-firing pyro.

Here are the angles of the views in the Bay Lake area.

Below are the angles of the views in the Seven Seas Lagoon area.

As for viewing from INSIDE the dining area of restaurants (you need ADRs, and most are usually busy during the shows)...

you can see (and hear) them at California Grill at Contemporary,

'Ohana at the Poly, at Trader Sam's and Trader Sam's outdoor patio at the Poly, Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian,

and (if you have access there) the Top of the World at Bay Lake Tower.

I believe the Fireworks Dessert party is available to book now for July.
I have a reservation for early September.

Oops! Never mind, I see July 3 and 4 are grayed out. :)

Do they still do the same-day, walk-up desert party reservations? That would be my best suggestion, if they do.

If not, I wouldn't count on them coming open on those days. Sorry.

I might actually love you right now!!!
Thanks so much for all of the information.

We are DVC members so I believe we would have access to Top of the World - how early would you think we'd need to settle in?

If you get in to the Pirates and Pals, you'll have an awesome time. We did it on our last trip and it was GREAT!

The Pirates and Pals tends to open a little later, but as others have said I wouldn't count on it. Good luck

No, they do not do same day Dessert Party spots now

For July 3,4 you only have access if you are staying there., at BLT. Those are black out dates for others. We book at BLT then just for access.

Not staying there so I guess that's out. :(

At least you found out before actually trying to go up.

My husband just mentioned on Sunday that he wanted to see the MK 3rd of July fireworks from a boat, and we booked a pontoon boat that will leave from the Contemporary. They raise the price for the 3rd, but its even more for the 4th.

We have 4 adults, the boat seats 8. With tip cost is $80 per person. I have posted on the Theme park Community board and DVC to see if any Disboard folks care to join us.

We have shared boats before, either ones we have booked, or with others who had booked the boat and were looking for passengers

There are snacks aboard like, pop, water and chips.

That would be AWESOME!!!! only - we're a group of 7. Maybe we can rent our own - never thought of that! Thanks!

I hope it works out for you! The 3rd and 4th of July fireworks at MK are awesome!
Epcot only has done the special ones on the 4th.
We go every year that we can!

I'm with you on the panic! This is our first time at WDW during the 4th (and first time in the middle of summer), and I keep going over our plans and rethinking them. I'm also hoping for the desert party, but I'm not holding my breath for it. Did they have it last year?

Not sure.
We did it for New Year's Eve this past December. Well worth it - just to have a seat! My daughter was in a wheelchair due to a spiral fracture of her tibia so even though we certainly didn't plan for that - we were glad we planned ahead and booked the Dessert Party.

Yes, there will be 6 of us and DMIL will be using her ECV. I know it will be crazy crowded, and she gets uncomfortable driving the EVC when it gets crowded. Keeping fingers crossed!
