Tracey and Doug's trip to WDW

Please forgive the tardiness of the report but curcumstances prevented me from doing it sooner. I'll give a report on the restaurants, parks, transportation..etc. over the coming days.

7/28 - 8/5

Part 1

Flight:
Our flight, USAirways Metrojet LGA -MCO arrived 35 minutes early (if you can believe that!)and our baggage was among the first on the conveyer belt. What luck!

Transfers:
Our package included transfers via Mears. I was a little nervous about Mears because of the mixed reaction it receives on the boards. We only waited about 10 minutes for our bus and the bus was only carrying people to POFQ and PORS. The trip to the resort was 30 minutes. Our return trip on Mears was a 3:15 pickup for our 5:30 flight. The bus arrived at exactly 3:15 ( I could'nt believe it). ...Grade: A+

Resort POFQ:
Our Arrival at the hotel was at 2:30, less than 1 hour from our arrival (1:35). There was no one on line at check-in and we were in our room with our baggage before 3:00. The theming of the resort is gorgeous with a great pool (but crowded). The rooms look just like a French Quarter hotel (We have been to New Orleans 3 times). Housekeeping was good and they came early everyday (before noon)except for one day. We got back to our room one day at 2:00 and it wasn't made up. We took our naps( we hung out the dnd sign) and showers and headed out at 5:00. There was a bag on our doorknob loaded with clean towels and soap. We tipped housekeeping $5. a day. We were in building 4 ...just steps away from the food court and the bus stops. I'll review the food court later when I give my restaurant reviews. Scat Cats Club is the bar right off the lobby featuring a saxaphonist Tues-Sat. He plays everything from Louis Armstrong to Britney Spears! In other words there ain't nothin he don't play :). I personally would have preferred more Jazz but the audience is so diverse I guess you have to play a variety. Due to the restaurant being closed alot of people ate dinner at Scat Cats. The menu was pretty much pub food: Burgers,Nachos,Sandwiches..etc... but the food was different than what was available at the food court and it looked to be better quality. Guest services is located adjacent to check-in and though they have a seperate line for guest services when there are a lot of guests checking in the CM's for guest services (usually two) also do check-in. This results in some long waits. We used guest services for our Fantasmic package and E-night and though we waited a bit the CM's were very nice and polite. Check-out was a breeze because we didn't have to go to the desk. They just left our CC statement on our door. We stored our luggage with Bell Services and we were off to the parks on our last day.
Grade: B

To be continued...

If anybody has any questions let me know..it would be my pleasure to help!

Doug
