Which set of dates would be better for us as first-times to DL....7/26-31 or 8/2-8/7/20. Will all of the night shows be running at this time?? Thanks for any input!

The first week of August might be better than the last week of July.

You're unlikely to see any difference in the entertainment or attraction schedule between the two weeks. And if something different does happen, you wouldn't be able to predict (or know which week would be affected) this far out.

As for crowds, it's so hard to predict. The consensus seems to be the crowd calendars aren't as reliable as they used to be (assuming they used to be reliable), but they're still probably the best thing we have. At least they're someone's best guess, based on a variety of factors including history and planned events. The "Is It Packed?" site has the last week of July as all "Yup, It's Packed" while the first week of August has a few "Hey, It's Alright" days.

There's no guarantee it actually works out that way, but I think it's fair to say it's at least somewhat likely that the first week of August is the less crowded of the two.

Here's the "Is It Packed?" website (you'll have to advance the calendar to next July and August):

Disneyland Daily also has a calendar. She has all of the days you're considering the same (heavy crowds). Here's that calendar:
