7/24/2011 5 Night Disney Dream cruise

This is our 2nd Disney Cruise and we can't wait. We are me, DH, DD13, & DS 18. Looking forward to the Double Dip as we sit in 24 degree weather in Maine. :yay:

Welcome Minnie!!!:cheer2::welcome: My oldest son is 18, my twin sons will be 14 on the cruise; all 3 are huge DCL fans:thumbsup2

It's freezing down here in southern Virginia - literally. We've already had two days with real snow accumulation - we can go years here without ever seeing snow!:confused3

Wow! Looks like the ship is starting to fill up! We may actually hit page 4 this week on our meets thread!!!:woohoo:

Just booked this morning!!! We hold a steerage ticket lol, but I'm just happy to be going!!!

It's an anniversary trip for DH and I!! I can't wait!!

don't rule out the upgrade fairy;) you could get a better steerage room:laughing:

I specifically booked an inside for the virtual porthole which i'm hoping will keep things visually interesting.

Oooh, you have the very popular virtual porthole room...that is so cool! :cool2: Those are becoming more expensive than some of the upper category outer porthole rooms. Careful, you'll have people knocking on your door asking to see your porthole! :rotfl2:

Must say I surprised when I last checked my rates to check into possible switch to balcony and found all the insides sold out. Think I'll keep what i have lol

I figured they were sold out because they were the cheapest. I'm kind of excited about my virtual porthole, but would be ok if I got an actual ocean view instead!

good luck, I've only gotten that upgrade once:goodvibes

Grr...trying to make a payment online and it's been processing my payment for about 5 minutes....this happened to me when I tried to book the cruise online and ended up with two reservations!! I guess I will just call them to make payments from now on. :confused3

Hi Everyone! Just checking in...wearing layers and scarf IN the house, dreaming of the Dream!

One of my 13 yo boys was just chatting away in the next room...seemingly to himself. He told me he was giving the cat a pep talk! :rotfl: Who says teens can't be cute?!:lovestruc

Hi PoohJen- I am pretty sure we were on the same cruise in August 09. The double dip to CC due to the weather. That was our first cruise with DCL and not our last:thumbsup2. We had such a great time.:lovestruc:lovestruc On Wednesday we had a snow day and I spent it dreaming of our upcoming cruise.:beach:: Anyone have a count down started? We our counting down to our son's high school graduation. 133days:woohoo::woohoo: and our daughters graduation from middle school 153 days:yay:. I hope everyone has a safe, warm and great weekend.:goodvibes

Funny, Minnie, our oldest is graduating HS in June, and our twins graduate middle school then too!

That was a great cruise in '09. I was really sad not to go to Tortola, I had great plans for there. But I was grateful DCL made such a quick switch to keep us cruising in fine weather!

Where are you located? We had 14 inches of snow at Christmas, the most I've had in my 11 1/2 years here by 10 inches! We were spared the recent southern snow storm, however. Good thing - I hate when my kids (and my husband, a teacher) have to make up days - it's worse that way!

We're having a mini-family reunion on this cruise! DH and both of my DSs (they'll be 11 and 13) and I will be flying in from Nebraska on the 23rd, spending the night at OKW, and then spending the day at SSR on the 29th before flying back here on the 30th. Traveling to Orlando takes 1/2 a day with the best of flight schedules - so we're happy to ease the stress (and spend a little more time at the House of the Mouse) with a little more WDW time on both ends of the cruise.

We're going to be meeting up with my sister, her DH, their kids (15 yo nephew, 8 yo nephew, 5 yo niece, 3 yo niece) - and I believe her in-laws are also coming along. My brother and his wife may also be going. Sister and BIL are celebrating their 10 year anniversary right after the cruise.

It's close to zero here, with packed ice and snow everywhere and more on the way. July - and Disney magic - just can't get here fast enough! :cool1:

Just 5" of snow closed north ga for 5 Days! This as DH was recovering from kidneystone procedure. TMI? Finally the house is back to normal and I'm so happy to start reading reports on the Dream! Less than 200 days to Go!:grouphug:

Welcome EskiLvr!!!:welcome:
This is a reunion cruise for us too! My DH and our 3 teen boys, my folks, my sis and her family (BeautyFan) and my brother and his family, celebrating our Dad's 75th bday!

I've enjoyed reading the menus and looking at the pics from the recent Dreams posts.:yay: I was a little underwhelmed by the new menus, but I'm sure it will all be great, and I try to challenge myself on the cruise to try new things.:cloud9::thumbsup2

Did you see the pics of aquaduck at night? Beautiful!:thumbsup2

Hi Pooh Jen, We live and work at a boarding school in Maine. DH is the Director of College Counseling and I work in the library and run the girls dorm. We are in the middle of another snow storm and the public schools got out early. DD is like  but DS is like:scared1:. Hope everyone has a great rest of the week. Can't wait till our cruise:yay::yay:

better now than during the cruise!

had an ice storm here yesterday, then rain which at least melted the foot the snow we had. please, no do-overs.

anybody price out their cabin lately? pat yourself on the back for booking early!scary prices.

We finally got confirmation that DH could have the week off for the cruise:banana:but I was pricing a few weeks during end of June & early July jik he didn't. Two sailings were completely sold out, even for just 2 guests in a cabin. Guess we'll see how the ship handles a full house.popcorn::

That's good to know, Keisha, thanks! Are you guys big Steelers fans? If so, good luck this weekend!:cheer2:

Count me in for this cruise too! My DMom and I will be there and then we'll be staying at BLT for a few nights.

I'm already looking at the itinerary and trying to decide which nights to book Palo and Remy and what I want to do at CC! :beach:

The current threads from people just getting off the Dream really have me excited to go!

::MinnieMo Hi MathGeek, :welcome:

We're celebrating DGrandpa's bday/family reunion on this cruise so will be sticking with family/group dinners with the kiddos, but I look forward to hearing all about Remy!
