We entered the elevator and had to use our room key to access the club level...ds' think this is really great! We are in room 3727, only a few doors down from the club room. Our view was spectacular! Below us was a big pond with lily pads and ducks. It was lined with palm trees. In the far distance we could see Wn'W and several hotels. It seemed like you could see forever. We watched some afternoon storms approach from this direction. Ds 17 shot video of some funnel-looking dust cloud approaching one afternoon during a storm. We lucked out and managed to get back from the parks right before the usual afternoon storms. So, after we all checked out the room completely--including the backscratcher, we decided to check out the club room down the hall. Before we could leave, there was a knock at the door. Surprise! there was a bellman with our luggage! Funny, we didn't even realize it wasn't in the room! Around now I realized just how much luggage we had lugged to Orlando! Tip the bellman and off to the club room. WOW! what a big room. We were welcomed as soon as we opened the door. The staff member gave a quick rundown of what was available and when. Ah, a big coffee pot right there, anytime we want. And sodas and water chilling right next to it! Time for our usual afternoon coffee. The kids took sodas and bags of chips to the room. Let the spoiling begin! Back to the room to enjoy the view again-- we brought binoculars with us and could see people standing in lines at W n' W....plus the kids are really into fixed up cars and scanned the highway in the distance naming off different ones. Then I announce that we're not living out of suitcases for the whole week so everyone find a drawer and unpack. I am met with those stares that kind of say "huh?" Wow, did we bring a lot of clothes. Managed to find room for everything though. I unpacked my $19.99 Kmart airbed and used the elec.inflator that came with it. DS14 was going to use that and had asked that we bring his sheets from home. He just put his pillowcase over the room pillow and used the extra blanket from the closet. We put it along the window side of the room. Note: the bed held up through the whole vacation and he found it so comfortable that he is now using it in his room. It is now after 5 so we hit the club room to see what afternoon snacks are out. Veggies, dips, nachos.......kids thank me for upgrading : ) We grab bottled water and head out for the parks. First minor glitch...we try to enter IOA only to realize that the park passes are still in the hotel. Small misunderstanding about them on my part. We had our room keys but nothing else. Guest Services at IOA gave us complimentary passes for the rest of the evening after showing our room keys. Whew! Family smiling at me again! We toured the park but decided to save the water rides for the next day. DS17 and I went on Dr. Doom and Hulk. Would like to do both again when it's dark. Both sons and dh spend many quarters soaking riders with those water canons. DS14 wanted to ride the 2-seater dino ride overhead but turned out he was too tall......first time THAT's happened to him! Back out to City Walk. Everything is so pretty when it's all lit up. We snacked and people-watched for a while then took a boat back to the hotel. It's almost 11pm and there are still quite a few people swimming. We sat out at the pool for a while and planned for the next day. Not far away we could see IOA. Kids keep making comments about how great this place is. Back to the room, with a pitstop at the club room. Too late for desserts but they told my kids to wait a minute. They brought out a whole plate of cookies for them! ....my kids just might decide to live here! Back in the room and ds17 is walking around in one of the RPR robes after his shower. Hmmm, didn't expect him to want a robe too! I'll write more in a little while.
