Have a wonderful time on your cruise!!!
Out for dinner and drinks with our neighbors and back to our house to drink and celebrate the New Year!:cheer2: At least as of now, that is the plan! It has sort of become tradition!

But, Julie I'de be willing to come with you instead!:lmao:

Bring back a trip report!!!:cloud9:

Okay, how about this question...........

What's everyone doing for New Year's Eve?:cool1:

Drinking Banfi with Stacey while in Tucson. The DH's and kids can do what they want. :rotfl: BTW...we will all be in Tucson but after a bottle or 2 or 3 we won't care what the rest are doing. :upsidedow :faint: :drinking1

Hi Everybody,

I was playing around with Photoshop and here's what I came up with. If you all like, we can use it as our logo:

smallworldlogocopy.jpg

And here's one that I made with some landmarks from the cities/countries that we'll visit during the cruise:

Those are both GREAT! :worship: :thumbsup2
How will we ever choose?!? :confused3

Barb do you fight the crowds at WDW? at Easter time? I would love to do the world at Christmas time or Easter one time but I'm afraid of crowds. I'm I'm not doing this: :scared1: I'm doing this: :furious:

That is a major reason that for the past 4 years (5 now) we have been going to Las Vegas. This year we didn't plan on it until the hotel called us and enticed us with a free 2 bedroom suite from 12/27 - 1/4. Course, you know me - I can't pass up a good deal! So those are our plans right now - of course, always subject to change without notice. ;)

If we didn't go, we and I really mean DH would be asleep in bed by 9:30. The only night in the whole year triple guaranteed that he'd be in bed before 10 pm. Did I tell you all I lead a very boring life at home? Hence my need for extravagent vacations. ;)

If you can fight the crowds of LV you will do just fine at WDW Easter week. When Easter is late, like it is in 2009, it's not as bad as when it's the last week of March. Not everyone has the same vacation week so the crowds are there but they aren't huge. We've never encountered the parks having to close due to hitting capacity Easter week.
Easter Sunday we don't go to any of the parks until late in the afternoon and we usually hit MK then since the crowds have really died down by then. Last year we do go to Epcot around lunch time and then over to MK late in the day and both parks were fine.
Also, since we will have AP's we may only spend a few hours each day and not worry about being there from open until close. I do stay away from AK, I really don't like that park at all. Last year we went as soon as it opened walked a little bit, got in line for Kali River Rapids (since it opened a little bit after the park did) and we were first in line and first on the ride - got soaked and then left to change our clothes and went to another park. We may be in and out parks 2 or 3 times a day. Love those AP's and the free parking.
As long as I get to Epcot at least 4 times during the week I'm fine. But we are usually there everyday - we all really like that park.

We'll be at WDW Dec 27-Jan 3! I know we are crazy for going then, but that is when it works out for us. Andrew's birthday is Jan 1, so he'll really be celebrating!

Oh wow, that is my dream, to be at WDW for Christmas and New Years. Maybe someday......:cloud9:

Mike, I like them both. Do you think maybe you can make the graphics of the stops at each country a little smaller so they fit under the title in the white space on either side of the ship and don't extend past the title. Just a suggestion - I'm not very creative at all.:confused3 I'll leave it to you. Thanks so much for doing this.:flower3:

Well I've done DL and WDW at NYE or Xmas and it's not pretty.....it's so stressful, it's really not worth it.

Don't feel guilty, they'll leave you before you know it and all you'll have is your husband......you might as well get to know him before then!

LV sounds good, it must be fun at NYE..........I'm mulling this over (I usually go to Atlantic City, which is fun)

Well that's cool!:thumbsup2 I haven't sailed on a holiday week yet.....:lovestruc

Thanks -- it's my first time over a holiday, too . . .

I disagree with JoAnn about being at WDW NYE -- it's where we are MOST years -- we love being at Epcot for NYE, and have been four or five times. As long as you have been to WDW before and aren't trying to "do it all" I think seeing all the decorations, special parades and shows, etc., is well worth the big crowds.

Mike, I am in total and complete awe -- these are amazing!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye,

Pirates will only be posted at the 1000 post !

I guess it's a general concensus that too much "fluffing" was going on around pirate: time and ketching up is hard for some of us so posting pirate: on the 1000, like some other threads do, is a great idea (thanks Andrew). In all honesty, I'm having a devil of a time keeping up with all of you, whew!!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Although it has been quiet this weekend.

Where is Izzi????

Anyway, if you want me to go back to posting pirate: on the hundreds I will. Just let me know. If not matey's, it'll be on the 1000's.

I have to sleepishly admit that we will be on the Disney Magic -- we've had this NYE Western cruise planned for a few years now!

I've had a very busy weekend, but I will try to load my photos from Halloween night and post a few over the next few days . . .

Oh, I'm jealous - green with envy :thumbsup2 but happy for you. You'll have to tell us if its worth booking!

That's what I'm afraid of. Although, I hope to one day settle us down enough to where we can just relax and not stress about crowds. Out here, DL is usually closed (due to fire regulations) way before 11 am. I do not even attempt going there on Christmas day. One year that my son worked there, he called me just before 10 am to say don't even bother coming to Downtown Disney. The Fire Marshalls were there and prohibiting people from even coming off the ramp. That's one main reason I hate crowds. :scared1:

Sounds like a nice, happy evening. Is it a sign that I'm getting old when that is all I want? First, an evening sitting on the porch handing out candy, then a restaurant catering for Thanksgiving, what next? Christmas on DCL? :confused3

But, Julie I'de be willing to come with you instead!:lmao:

OH yeah - me three! ;)

We'll be at WDW Dec 27-Jan 3! I know we are crazy for going then, but that is when it works out for us. Andrew's birthday is Jan 1, so he'll really be celebrating!

Happy Birthday Andrew! What a way to celebrate!

::yes:: I totally agree - I like them both - especially Cpt Mickey! :cutie:

Actually, and I'm  to say this but we don't actually do to the strip on NYE. We hole ourselves up in the hotel and the last couple years our friends and their kids go so we celebrate there. Last year we were invited to a NYE dinner/dance that we showed up for the last hours. Didn't realize they meant a lobster and filet mignon dinner so this year, we intend to make it on time and then go for the entertainment. UP until a few years ago - I thought a party meant dinner and a movie with friends. I didn't realize people actually partied on New Years. (My favorite part was on NY Day we hit the malls for all the after Christmas specials. Like nabbing a Waterford Crystal cross for $7.50. :teeth: )

I agree with this Mike, seems as if the logo you put in your signature line is a bit to "tall?" for the space and if your like me with tons of things in there - we'll be more "squished" than ever. Although I think I like the first one a bit until I look at the 2nd and then I can't decide. Shall we take a poll? ;) :lmao:

I played around with it, and it fits better (used the one with the landmarks). But I can try to play around with it more and see what happens!:thumbsup2

I'm on the record for quite a while back (actually before Andrew, I do believe!) that I think the thread is unmanageable when we keep going for pirates on the hundreds . . . so I am all for your idea!

Not envy from you, of all people!!! Actually I hate telling people what I am doing and having a few say "I hate you -- just kidding!" as always happens -- I'm sure you have gotten this as well!

I do and that's why I usually have to quickly explain why I'm booking it. Believe it or not it wasn't until just about 5 yrs ago (you know the story Julie) where I chucked all caution to the wind and started booking. Figured I'd end up like my mom if I didn't. Now, the family follows. Although, with my mom being alive still, I can't venture out too far. Christmas and Easter and Birthdays are usually reserved for family - mine that is - Steve's family wasn't too big on celebrations until recently. BTW, FIL seems to be resonding a bit better to the 2nd round of treatments and looks like we may go into the NY all together. Will let you all know.

Anyway, as for 2009, I really didn't have anything scheduled until April popped up with she wanted to go with the school. In all honesty, I wasn't going to let her until I found out that I could go - she'd probably would have been ok but you know - baby and all - I just couldn't let her go - then the August trip - well, you know - banked points have to be used up the following year :rolleyes1 Then the credit card points would have expired....might as well use them up. :lmao: I do sometime like my life. It the time between vacations that makes it hard to live. :rotfl2: Wow - that came out wrong - that is not what I meant, but you all know what I mean - if it weren't for the DIS and these conversations we have, I'd go stir

But make sure you tell us if its worth the time to sail. I can't imagine if there would be tons of people in the terminal or what. Whatever the case, its got to be better then DL in CA. :scared1:

I also like then both, but I am curious why Mickey is the only MALE in the boat??:confused3 :confused3

So glad that your FIL is doing better than expected! I can remember when you were worried that he wouldn't make it through the summer.

Since the ship is limited in terms of how many people can get on, I can't imagine that the ship for NYE will be any more crowded than the PC cruise was, which is an advantage. I'll let you know though!

I also like then both, but I am curious why Mickey is the only MALE in the boat??:confused3 :confused3

Well, he's the only non-human non-child . . . not sure whether he is the only male, but I can't really imagine any of us personally identifying with those small world dolls at any rate . . .:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
