Just thought I would post this again as a friendly reminder to all who want to participate.
A huge thanks to Izzi for suggesting this and taking on the task! :yay:

As Christmas and Channukah coincide this year does anyone fancy doing a Ballyhooers holiday card exchange ???

A reminder

You PM me your full name and postal address, as do all the other people who want to participate. I then compile a list with all that information and send it out to all the people on the list. You then send a christmas/channukah/holiday card to all the people on the list and you should get one back from all the people on the list.

It's a nice way to bring us all closer together and celebrate the holidays and it also great fun to see the cards coming through the door as they won't all be coming from the same country. :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:  :grouphug:

I've been asked by a couple of Ballyhooers to give an exact cutoff date as they wish to order really, really extra special cards to send to us ;) ;) So if you wish to be sociable and holidaylicious please can you PM me your postal details by November 13th 2008 :grouphug:

Some Ballyhooers have told me what holiday they celebrate if I was going to list that information. I don’t think I’m going to for the following reasons.

1. We are all friends and the cards are being sent in the spirit of friendship

2. I am Jewish and I only buy and send Channukah cards to all my friends regardless of their religious belief. At the same time I don’t expect my non Jewish friends to send me anything other than the same Christmas cards they are sending to all their other friends as it’s the friendship and joy we are sharing which is important message here not what picture is on the front of the card.

Just checking in to bump myself up the posting ladder! I can't keep up with the thread. If I don't check it for a few days there are 20 new pages! At that rate.... how many will there be by 2010? :teacher:

Do keep checking in...it will slow down now and you will be able to catch up.

Their dropping the pirate posts at 100 from the next thread part 2 and only going for 1,000's to cut down on the fluff, so you will be able to keep up.

I Agree -its just the excitement of booking and the Light at the End of the Tunnel, I for one am not in the typical funk of "the trips over - now what???" that I usually go into after such an amazing trip. Now, we get into the nitty gritty of planning, researching and endless hours of research on the computer of where, who and how we get on excursions. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions. In other words, back to normality.

One thing did occur, DS Andrew, who will be 24 at the time of sailing, has already told DH and I he DOES NOT enjoy sailing and especially flying for over 11 hrs so to not plan on him going. :woohoo: That's about 2 grand in flights and tickets that I no longer have to worry about. :woohoo: (Being the mom I am - I still however, will keep him on the roster until final payment day as men do tend to be fickle! Right AndrewDerek? ;)

Yes keep it open for him, but we are not all Fickle!!!!:rolleyes1 :thumbsup2

Who knows which of my group will be able to attend by 2010........I'll either have more people to add or less...........it's hard to predict when your kids are 18, 21 and 24......if they're employed and can't come, that's a good thing!:confused3

 Who'd of "thunk" it that being employed would be such a lifesaver? Speaking of which, DD21 went on a group interview finally. She's been able to stretch out $2500 from our trip last year (with occasional rescues from Mom) until now. She's been unemployed due to my "encouraging" her not to while she goes to college full-time. So early last month I told her to start looking for a part-time job to finance all those facials, partying and what-nots. She claims to have put in applications all over the place but the economies been so bad out here that they won't hire her. Not even the Disney College intern program wanted her. Which really was too bad because this girl has her own mode of reliable trasnportation, her own insurance, and she is super responsible. She goes to school full-time, teaches bible study at our local church one day a week, helps out with her sister's soccer practice when she can and was made a keyholder at her last job within 3 weeks of arrival. She's smart and responsible but for some reason, no one sees that. :scratchin - what do I need to brush her up on?

Wow - anyone else having trouble typing today? Not sure if its the weather or what but its a bit grey, overcast and we woke up to rain, however, it must have evaporated as soon as it hit the ground because I see evidence but not drops on my car. Go figure - I get cold (cold for CA) and I still can't wear my boots.

On a note, we are booked on ABD Sacred Valleys and Incan Cities for 8/4/09-8/12/09. I already called and got the booking confirmation number but had to get off as I was late for a doc's appt. I'll call on Monday to get the rest of the info I need and to find out how they handle flights. Steve has some points we are going to apply for airline tickets that have to be used up by end of month. :woohoo: :woohoo:

I'm so excited, this is my vacation forecast for next year: (another TOAL'S for me) :woohoo:

Spain & France Spring Break '09: April 9-April 20, 2009

(I am accompanying DD's Spanish group to Madrid and flying out of Rome - made the first payment and did this: :faint: )

Nothing for my birthday (July :sad1: )

Peru's Sacred Valleys and Incan Cities August 4-August 12,2009

Still haven't figured out what to do with 300+ points I have left over. I was supposed to book a 1-week in WDW Aug 15th-22nd but not sure I will this time. So either I'll book it and use up all our points or I'll bank them for 2010.

Anyone else have plans already? Can y'all tell I'm bored? Household is just starting to get up. I'm been up for over 1 hr. Can't go outside as its cold but oh well, I enjoyed the quietness.

Your vacay plans sound great!! We just have the Tortola trip next year and this cruise in our forecast. I'm holding off, but I do want to do something for the winter holidays, I just don't know what. Probably something warm in Miami or another beach........

Our girls are now all in college, the oldest should be employed soon....:confused3 It will be nice when we are not completely carrying them and they're on their own............:scared:

We are flying out Christmas night to Phoenix for a few days and then going down to Tucson for NYE and flying back home on 1/3.
Easter week will be spent at WDW.
Father's Day 4 day Wonder cruise followed by a few days at WDW.
DD should be spending 3 weeks in northern Europe next July.

I'm sure I'll come up with a few more things for next year and maybe something else for this year.

Okay, how about this question...........

What's everyone doing for New Year's Eve?:cool1:

You mean we can stop carrying them? Hot Digigity Dang! Boy oh Boy wait till I tell my kids that one. Now if they'd only listen. :rotfl: But I do agree with you - I keep thinking once they go - well at least the older two I can plan more extravagent vacations but somehow, they get wind of them and they tend to hang around. JoAnn, does it get any easier once they are all over 18? I wonder since my youngest is only 15 if I'll get over the guilt of traveling to these places without them.

Barb do you fight the crowds at WDW? at Easter time? I would love to do the world at Christmas time or Easter one time but I'm afraid of crowds. I'm I'm not doing this: :scared1: I'm doing this: :furious:

Chinese Food Drink Heavily & try to stay awake to midnight!:lmao: :rotfl:

That is a major reason that for the past 4 years (5 now) we have been going to Las Vegas. This year we didn't plan on it until the hotel called us and enticed us with a free 2 bedroom suite from 12/27 - 1/4. Course, you know me - I can't pass up a good deal! So those are our plans right now - of course, always subject to change without notice. ;)

If we didn't go, we and I really mean DH would be asleep in bed by 9:30. The only night in the whole year triple guaranteed that he'd be in bed before 10 pm. Did I tell you all I lead a very boring life at home? Hence my need for extravagent vacations. ;)

I have to sleepishly admit that we will be on the Disney Magic -- we've had this NYE Western cruise planned for a few years now!

I've had a very busy weekend, but I will try to load my photos from Halloween night and post a few over the next few days . . .

Well I've done DL and WDW at NYE or Xmas and it's not pretty.....it's so stressful, it's really not worth it.

Don't feel guilty, they'll leave you before you know it and all you'll have is your husband......you might as well get to know him before then!

LV sounds good, it must be fun at NYE..........I'm mulling this over (I usually go to Atlantic City, which is fun)

Out for dinner and drinks with our neighbors and back to our house to drink and celebrate the New Year!:cheer2: At least as of now, that is the plan! It has sort of become tradition!

But, Julie I'de be willing to come with you instead!:lmao:

We'll be at WDW Dec 27-Jan 3! I know we are crazy for going then, but that is when it works out for us. Andrew's birthday is Jan 1, so he'll really be celebrating!
