I know its way to early but I have some DCL pricing on Pre & Post stay London Hotels!

Rennaissance Chancery Court $722 a night per room

Park Plaza Country Hall $900 a night per room

Also they are charging about $85 for transfer from the Hotel to the Ship!

What do you guys over the Pond Think?

Thats $500 to get my family from London to the Cruise in Dover seems high!:teacher:

Robert I think that ALL sounds a bit pricey. I can't look now as I'm off to Ethan's school for a meeting with his teacher but I'll certainly look some prices up over the weekend for you.

On getting down to the port....if there is enough folks going from more or less the same area of London maybe we could organise our own coach ??

Hmm - check on that Park Plaza price unless that was for two rooms
The prices I have are as follows
Renaissance $688
Park Plaza $461
Grosvenor $594

You can get from London to Dover for less $ if you take the train instead of the transfers that Disney offers

As you've seen it all done before and "Fearless Leader" seems an appropriate title.....are you volunteering to fill the role ???

I'll do whatever I can to help out. Just know that with my rotations I may go missing for 5 weeks at a pop.

If Mike is Fearless leader that means that you can either be Boris or Natasha, Ill be Squirel!:lmao: :rotfl: :dance3:

Hey Rocky...watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!

The hotel prices they quoted you are for 2 rooms. Someone had posted the rates for those hotels and they were half what you posted.

The only hotel that I've seen pricing for is Park Plaza County Hall, since I was checking prices for the Park Plaza London Victoria where we will stay. I was doing pricing for next summer, same time frame, and the rates I was coming up with were just over $200. a night including VAT (horrible 17.5% tax) for a room for 3 people.
I would never book a room thru them since the prices are so inflated.

You can book your own transfer on the National Express Coach that leaves from Victoria Station for around $100, if not less, 1 way for all of you. We paid about $60. for 3 of us this past summer. You can book the coach no more than 12 weeks out.

Depending where everyone is staying we could opt for a private transfer for a group/groups which will be cheaper than DCL. Most private transfers prefer to pick up at 1 location rather than a several, but I'm sure they would for an added fee. I was checking on this for our cruise this past summer.

The bus is even cheaper than the train and takes about the same amount of time.

Sure...when we wake up on this side of the pond you have to leave and go to your son's school. :yay: :confused3 :rotfl2: :rolleyes1

Morning everyone. Gray day here and will rain later today. TGIF!!!

OMG!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Don't believe a word of the stories laura and Julie are spreading about me! Next they'll be telling you that my wife was cheering me on as I wore another woman's bra and paraded around with her shoes and purse!

Whoa! The tales that Julie, Laura and I could tell about Mike! But than again he probably has some good ones about us so.............. :rolleyes1

Honestly, Mike is the nicest guy. He even let us blame things on him! :lmao:

Mike, it looks as if Laura needs a quick lesson in geography. She said you drove UP to DC to meet with them. The last time I looked at a map and made the drive to the DC area we drove DOWN that way. So being that she's not so sure where the nation's capital is in relation to the location that the declaration of independence was signed, I will not believe a word she says about you. :lmao: ;) :rotfl2:

JK Laura

Wondering that myself? :confused3

I think Julie said it well...I have no shame. At least as long as things are all in good fun, I have no problem laughing at myself!

Must be a left coast thing. Up is down, down is up? :confused3

We did have a lot of fun!

I

Tina, they have already started here, the last two days I have been awakened by Vote no on Prop 8, vote no on prop 6 & 9. I just usually vote the opposite of what their calling me for. If its a recording, I put it on hold and when the buzzer alerts me - I hang it up. :rotfl2:

So that go along with our Curvalicious Club?

It is so funny, I try to make dd let the answering machine kick in, but she has to grab it. Than listens to it and holds it away from her ear and says its a recording! I hate it when I'm in the basement doing laundry and she calls me like it's really important and it's not.

Like your Ursula! Curvalicious, love it!

we are a wild and crazy bunch!

I really like Chatalicious!

I like that!

Ok explanation needed, obviously US speak :confused3 :confused3

Sounds Okay to me DCL buses likes to leave late, and we like to be there for first boarding at 11:30!:thumbsup2 There are 6 of us (too many for a London Cab) I betcha we could fill up a bus in a hurry!

Rocky & Bullwinkle, a cartoon that used to be on tv. Rocky the squirrell, Bullwinkle the moose, Boris & Natasha were the Russian bad people.
Do not forget that Boris & Natasha report to Fearless Leader!!! (Very Important)

I take a 7 & 1/2:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:

London cab would require a small fortune to get to Dover if you could even find one to take you that far. Dover is a 2½ hour ride from London.

Hey Rocky...watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!

I loved Bullwinkle & Rocky! There was so much cold war humor in it. I liked Sherman and Mr. Peabody.

No...not Fearless Leader....I'm just full of useless knowledge. Plus I just spent a year planning our Baltics cruise we just took this past July that left out of Dover. So all this info is still fresh in my mind.

Tell us the truth! You just dont like the riding pants & crop you would have to wear!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Actually the crop sounds like a good thing to be able to carry :scared1: but the rest of the outfit would have to go.

Do they give you any warning or does it just stop and then you have to hunting for the new thread ??

On our repo thread, we had a super organized "Fearless Leader" that had all of the first post information saved. It even had a link to all of the previous threads. When we'd get close to 250 pages, he start a new thread with the same first post, but ask that we not post in it until the current thread was locked. Then when the mods closed the thread, they put a link to the new thread in the last post. It never failed that I would put together a huge multi-quote and by the time I went to post my response, it would be locked. But other than that, it all worked pretty smoothly.

As you've seen it all done before and "Fearless Leader" seems an appropriate title.....are you volunteering to fill the role ???

Mike answered this beautifully -- if you have someone in charge of watching and setting up a new thread it is not too bad -- Mike would be perfect!

So it's Friday morning....and the question of the day is.......

What are your plans for the weekend ???

No plans for me, unless you call putting the dining room and living room back together after being painted plans. :confused3
DD has to babysit tonight, $$ for her. Then tomorrow afternoon we are going to a People to People Student Ambassador meeting to get the info on a trip that DD has been invited to go on next summer. The trip goes to St. Petersburg, Berlin, Tallinn and 3 or 4 more cities in different countries. So we will sit there and listen to them and look over the papers and hopefully NOT fall over from sticker shock at the price $$$$$$. So we shall see if she's going or not.

:woohoo: Don't you people work?????

I just spent 40 mins reading through the posts!!!!

What a wonderful bunch we are!!!!:woohoo:

not only don't they talk as much they also must talk smaller as they've only done 94 pages and we've just tipped into our 100th page !!!
so do they use a smaller size font or do they have less letters in their words?

As you've seen it all done before and "Fearless Leader" seems an appropriate title.....are you volunteering to fill the role ???
those are some big shoes to fill!
