Being that I have lived int he Greater Seattle Area for 14 years, I too am accustomed to the rain. I did enjoy the Tstorm in Panama. I do not usually get to see such intense light displays here.

Yes that was a big one, in fact I think it was a few 2/3 that all came together as one, it was a bit of a show, we enjoyed it form our room, DS is only wet has he had just had a shower to change for dinner, but we were able ot see it all form our room.

I do not think it will be as bad as that in the Baltic or North sea, as that was tropical air.

I am optimistic thats why I have one, and also live in London so I am used to the rain.

Most of the deck 8 verandahs are protected, we had a terrible rain storm in Panama but didn't get wet on our verandah.

But you don't have the added expense of airfare this time, not that I begrudge you that.

No, I don't think we will have too many problems. As I said in a previous post, we had an exchange student from Denmark and her family spends most of July sailing around the Baltic.

I've been doing a lot of reading on cruise critic, and I don't think the Baltic is particularly rough . . . keep fluffing another 40 posts or so, Sallie, and you will get yourpirate: !
:rotfl2: :cool1: :rotfl2: :cool1: Ill get one sooner or later!!!

It will be pot luck, lets hope for good weather and seas, as said DCL have limited it to four cruises at the very best time of year to visit, I think the Baltic could be bad in Winter, but we have the very best chance of it being fine.

I do think the exposed North sea has the highest risk even in summer, our weather is just unpredictable.

Ugg- I hate being on vacation in bad weather- of course, being I live in a bubble, I didnt realize the weather would be an issue- I thought only England had yucky weather and we would only be there for 2 days not counting pre and post visits!!! :rotfl2: - I better do some research on this trip!! RAINCOATS!!!! YUCK!!!!!!
well then again- I guess I wont have to worry about jumping into fountains when I have a hot flash !!!!!:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1 Are there fountains in Northern Europe?????? Hey.. I only teach first grade- World geography is not in my curriculum!!!:snooty:

I am sure we can find some for you.:rotfl: :rotfl: I seem to recall pictures of Copenhagen and Tallinn having some.

This is one of the reasons we opted not to have a veranda. Why bother when it is lss than warm outside.

Well, I would have loved to go with a veranda, but once I decided to do three cruises in a row, it started looking smarter to go with SPH rooms (which luckily Jo was able to do for me!). Another thing to keep in mind is how port intensive this cruise is -- like the Med, I didn't really miss a veranda there.

Sallie, the trick is to decide ahead of time that it is not "bad" weather -- just cool and pleasantly moist rather than hot and arid . . .:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I was beginning to think I was the only person going for the pirate: Julie

I guess I should go back and do some work.

Hey, Mike -- isn't it weird not to have to think about Tom or Roger swooping in for the pirate: ?
