I'm going home now....but there are train problems...I'll hopefully catch up with you all later

We may have to end up changing out date. We have friends that are interested in sailing this itinerary but not be able to make this one. We are looking into the June 24th sailing too. We definitely would like Tallinn as one of the stops. I hope they can do on the 18th as I am looking forward to seeing many of the familiar faces from the Panama Canal cruise

Well I'm home......I'm going to have some dinner which my lovely husband   has cooked and then it may well be an early night

No, Jo -- I don't want to hear about this! You have more friends sailing on THIS cruise . . Seriously!

On an aside, I totally agree about Tallinn. But as you well know, this one is going to Tallinn . .

Have a good dinner, take some meds and get lots of rest. :flower3: Hope your back starts to feel better soon.

Hi everyone- just checking in before I leave school- some of the teachers said the Baltic is very rough... any comments??? I cant imagine spending this money and being sick... the Med was so great- so calm except for one night, and I felt it right away in the dining room. :confused3 :sad2:

I haven't cruised it before, but DCL is limiting it to the best month or two, I have looked into it over the weekend and June and July are good months.

I have to say the issue could be the North Sea out of Dover, that is so unpredictable, the wind direction should be good at that time of year but here in the Uk we may get rain we may get wind we might have sun.

July should be a better than average month for Sunshine for us what ever happens in the UK often then goes to Europe.

The Med was great bar that last sea day I agree, it will not be as hot as that, but good sightseeing weather.

I've been doing a lot of reading on cruise critic, and I don't think the Baltic is particularly rough . . . keep fluffing another 40 posts or so, Sallie, and you will get yourpirate: !

For this cruise in general it sounds as though we have to plan for at least the possibility of cool weather and rain every day -- you can get lucky and get a warm day, but it just luck! Every trip report I read mentions carrying a travel umbrella and jacket on port days . . .

This is one of the reasons we opted not to have a veranda. Why bother when it is lss than warm outside.

It will be pot luck, lets hope for good weather and seas, as said DCL have limited it to four cruises at the very best time of year to visit, I think the Baltic could be bad in Winter, but we have the very best chance of it being fine.

I do think the exposed North sea has the highest risk even in summer, our weather is just unpredictable.

I am optimistic thats why I have one, and also live in London so I am used to the rain.

Most of the deck 8 verandahs are protected, we had a terrible rain storm in Panama but didn't get wet on our verandah.

Wow- those pictures are gorgeous- the colors are so vibrant! I have a nikon G50- too bad I dont know what to do with all those other settings! Mine stays on auto- I need time to learn...I need TIME!!!!!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Maybe by the time we cruise we will have enough for a meet & share knowledge, all welcome. Once you understand the basics the rest quickly follows. Even if you only learnt about thirds, aperture priority, shutter priority and another couple of little things your results will improve. For what it is worth you are probably amongst the majority when it comes to shooting on auto mode.:thumbsup2

Being that I have lived int he Greater Seattle Area for 14 years, I too am accustomed to the rain. I did enjoy the Tstorm in Panama. I do not usually get to see such intense light displays here.
