Welcome back Andrew and new cruisers!!! Can't wait to meet you all!! Thanks for posting that picture Sallie. It made me smile and I needed a smile today

What amazes me the most is that I can remember the names of almost everyone in that picture. That proves that we've made lasting friendships.


Now Izzi, don't start with the "beans on toast" again. We still thought "toads in the hole" were real toads!!!!

OK this is way too scary I go to bed and when I get back online we lept on 2 pages.......this smacks of people chatting toooooooooo much.........WITHOUT ME

If we're going to do a group photo......which I have to say is a FAB idea then maybe we need to have a chat with the DCL photographers earlier on in the trip so it can be broadcast to us "To Russia, With Love" cruisers...........I use that name as it seems to have been adopted.

On the other hand I guess we could be really democratic about it and hold a poll. What do you folks think ????

If all goes well this will be our 4th DCL cruise and each one is getting longer. It started with a 7 night, then went to Xmas special 10 night, then the Med 11 night and now a 12 night finslly something that appears to be going in the right direction

A small technological breakthrough has happened in the Davis house since our med trip..........we've gone wireless This amazing advance means that I don't have to sit in the playroom on the PC with the kids when they're on the PS3 screaming and shouting at the game and each other I can actually sit with my cup of tea in the lounge using Josh's laptop

Disney has made the the newspapers today with 'The Sun ' having an article in the paper and online on the 2010 cruises from Dover.

MICKEY MOUSE is coming to Britain – with DISNEY MAGIC based in Dover and the Med for a summer of cruises.
The ship, whose whistles play “When You Wish Upon A Star”, will be in Europe from April to September 2010.

There will be eight Western Mediterranean cruises out of Barcelona, each for 10 or 11 nights, and four 12-night Baltic cruises out of Dover.

The ship was in the Med last year – and was an immediate hit with Brits as well as American cruisers.

And although Mickey is the star, Doncaster-born Rachel Quinn, 40, is in charge of the fun – she is the ship’s cruise director.

As you would expect from Disney, the children’s facilities are outstanding. Even one of the funnels is a dummy, concealing a hangout for teenagers, and there is a whole deck devoted to youngsters.

There are plenty of child-free areas too, including one of the pools. But even for grown-ups, there’s something special about meeting Mickey or Captain Hook!


Disney’s visit to Europe also includes four repositioning cruises – a two-week run from Port Canaveral to Barcelona in April, the week-long moves from Dover to Barcelona and back, and the two-week run back to Florida at the end of the season.

We've already talked to our TA about switching our onboard rebooking to this cruise. We'll have to see how the price for the cruise and for airfare turn out, but we really really really want to do this cruise!

Our family is Mike (Me), Linda (DW), Zack (DS 12 at the time -who will be just a few weeks shy of 13), Hailey (DD 10 at the time), and Nick (DS10 at the time)

That's way too funny - the poor man. I'm sure many DH's feel the same way at times.
But I have a question as I've seen you post the same info twice: Wasn't your Med cruise in 2007? I'm sure it does seem like it was that long ago, but we don't want to rush things too much, that takes away time for saving up for the Baltics cruise.

What port is everyone looking forward to the most, what do you plan to do?

Probably St Petersburg the most, but they all look great for their own reasons. I have a feeling Tallin is going to be our underrated gem of this cruise, like Cartegena was on our repo. Who would have thought that I would want to go back to Colombia?

Would you stay at the beach at Warnemünde or getting a DCL tour or train to Berlin?
Train to Berlin. Beaches are great, but there's so much history in Berlin, and who knows if we'll get back there.

Do you plan to walk Copenhagen.
Not sure, but we're not against the idea. Tivoli Gardens looks like it has a little something for everyone in the family.

What atracts you to this cruise over the new Med ones with Malta and Tunis?
We'll probably get to those places someday too, but for now, these Baltic ports look great!

Pre and post stay plans? DLP or London, (I will stay in London before and after the cruise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! )

We'd love to spend some time before or after in London, but i won't have any extra vacation time. So don't worry Andrew, we won't show up on your doorstep with all of our luggage.

Not sure if I can stand detailed planning quite this early.......and I'm a compulsive planner, but somehow this is a little too early even for me. Also I have Josh's event first which kind of take priority at the moment.

Has anyone looked up what day July 18th is yet, I know in 2009 it falls on a Saturday so I'm assuming that in 2010 it's a Sunday. If I'm right that would mean it would be quite feasible to organise some kind of pre cruise dinner on the Saurday night either in London or in Dover depending of where most folks were styaing.

I would be more than happy to arrange something nearer the time, once folks have their pre cruise stays booked. Having done this on the night before we sailed on the Med cruise I know it was really nice to meet what was then new friends, can you imagine how much of a blast it would be this time round....... diners of southern England be afriad....be very afraid !!!!
