Yes University of Florida which is rated #2 (in State) #4 (Out of State) in the country By Kiplinger's:confused: I wonder if we can get Florida Resident rates as we have the home in Palm Beach?

You Go Girl!:mad::headache::woohoo:;):lmao:

Good Rainy Morning All!
7 Inches of rain so far Noah will be here any minute!:dance3:
You have to read the residency rules, but I believe you have to show 'proof' of residency for 1 year for in state tuition. I figure the easiest way to do that is for DD to turn in her DE lic. and get her FL lic. right after graduation. If we only have to pay out of state tuition for 1 yr that's not so bad. I'm also trying to convince her to take off first sememster and do late entry so we don't have to pay out of state for the entire year, just 1 sememster.
She's looking at UCF and Seminole State College. UCF's in state tuition is about 1/6th of out of state and SSC is about 1/3rd the cost of out of state. Quite a difference and one to definately look into estabilishing residency.

I'm sure Noah will be cruising the coast looking to pick up passengers...if he starts north save us a spot and if he starts south we'll save you a spot.
Calling for more rain today. :headache: :sad2:

Hate fighting for vacation. I'm just glad he's the only one that has to fight to get it at times. He may have to call the union in again to get it and to get Christmas week since that week was given to someone with less seniority.

EXCUSE ME MR BOSS!!! Mr Jilljill needs ALL the time off he requested! Give it to him NOW!!!!!!!!:mad::mad:
This made me laugh, thanks.

sounds like a boss I had - here I was 37 weeks pregenant and they were not going to approve my mat leave

I was like well ok then

Wow...never heard that one before. It's not like they weren't expecting you to go out on leave. :confused3 Obviously someone that had no clue.

Hi...we are new to this thread. Getting very excited for our cruise!
Can anyone boil down the tips for newcomers? I have been tying to search them out, but with 177 pages to go through the task is daunting.

Thanks,
Peekaboo

Welcome

Robert gave you good advise to look at the first post for tips. Not only do we have these 177 pages, but we have 4 other threads where we've been chatting since before the booking window opened.

On the main boards there's also a London tips thread and a Baltics tips thread. Another good place to look for info on each port is at cruissecritic.com.

If you have any specific questions please ask. We have people from the London area on here, many seasoned DCL cruisers and my family has done 1 other Baltics cruise.

I was like well ok then - it was a non profit organization - did research - and totally clueless about things - lots of things :rolleyes1

To All My British Disser Friends

My son who is currently a Junior In High School handed me his top 20 list of colleges & I need some Info!:confused3

He has included 2 schools in England, University of Manchester & University of Birmingham? Dont ask me why I do not know?

Now he is a good student who takes Honors & AP classes & has a 3.5 GPA, so how are these schools, would you recommend something else?:teacher:

A lot will depend upon what it is he wants to study. The course tends to dictate how popular a location is, as well as how competitive it is to get in. There are still more people applying than there are spaces. Let us know what he's thinking of studying & I'll try & help from there!

Celestine

Welcome to our new friends!!!!

Julie,
We are praying for you.

Our friends in GB,
HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

We can't book excursions until April as well. Good luck to all who book this week!!

Andrew,

I'm pretty sure SallieP pulled out when Izzy did.

As Sallie is normally an 'active' poster the same as Izzie, I presumed she had dropped out.:thumbsup2 Plus she might have been in contact with me, if still going.

Celestine,
On the FE. Do we have to make gifts for everyone in the family or can it just be a "family" gift? :confused3

GO GATORS!!!

When I went, I got all my things changed to FL my first year and got In State tuition by my second year. The technicality of it is that if YOU'RE going to be paying YOU need to have FL residency. If she's deemed to be 'independent' then she can get in-state after that first year.

We're also PAID IN FULL! :cheer2:

Done:
Cruise: booked and paid
Flights: booked and paid
Hotel (1 night before & 2 nights after): booked and paid

Engineering & Business, God help us all!:scared1:

That should be the only time you'll ever hear me say that about you. :rotfl2: :flower3: :upsidedow

Has he looked at the Univ. of DE, they have a good engineering department? Not that I want any more college kids near us, but it could be an option for him.

All is now well. DH's vacation is approved. The idiot manager only put 1 week in the computer and then threw away his vacation request paper - good thing I told him to make a copy. The co-manager approved his weeks and will get change into the computer. :thumbsup2

Celestine,

I think it's one per stateroom. As nice as that would be, we'd need a steamer trunk just for the FE's!!!!!!! :lmao::lmao:

So glad it all worked out. DH's vacation in Feb. was yanked, even though it was approved by his boss and on the computer system. Luckily the reason they didn't want him to go (some conversion from one system to another) was postponed "until a future date"! :scared1: and he was able to take the week. Ofcourse he immediately reminded them about his preapproved vacation and that he was taking a cruise in July... Life is never dull! :confused3

So Mr Bossman must of read my post here and realized he better not mess with me! ;)

Who is doing cities (besides Berlin and St Petersburg) on their own? If so, are you doing the hop on-hop off busses or what? I feel I really need to get planning! (or Andrew does!)

We'll do the cities on our own since they all seem to be pretty easy to do. I'm still scared about Oslo and Stockholm, they just seem intimidating with all the talk about ferries and such.
Now that vacation is approved, I need to grab a travel book and get looking at things.

Cruise x 2 is almost paid in full, will be on Thurs.
2 nights pre-cruise and 1 night post cruise booked
Flights will be booked on Wed.
Celestine has organized our transport to/from port :worship:
Will take Gatwick Express into the city upon arrival at Gatwick
Need to contact Anastasia again and finalize tour
Order more foreign currency
Keep bothering Robert

I think the above should be covered or just about cover what needs to be done this week. :thumbsup2

We got currency for each port except Russia (rubles don't seem easy to come by) and Tallin (I hear they may be accepting the Euro this summer). As we're doing all DCL excursions and have until 4/19 to decide, we narrowed them down but still have to make the final decisions.

Hey, just noticed I'm at 2999 posts!
