Isnt' that what Facebook is for?QUESTION
I think we should start up a question of the day.... Like other threads, but here's an organising one.
Is there a secure way for us to have photos of each other, to look at so we can see who everyone is, ( and maybe who to avoid?)
Many threads do this, its very helpful.
Should we do this????
Isnt' that what Facebook is for?
Besides, we all know to avoid Robert, he won't be too hard to miss.![]()

Did I read where the "Ball" in St P is at 5:15pm ?
That will make it difficult to get back from a tour in time to grab a bite before having to leave for Catherine's Palace.
This our itinerary :
OSLO : DIY w/ Oslo card , Viking, Fram , Kon Tiki Museums, lunch on ship ,
Nobel Peace Museum
COPENHAGEN : DIY w/ CPH card ; Canal Boats, Tivoli, lunch at Hard Rock,
Rosenborg Palace
WARNEMUNDE : Private Van, if available, OR Berlin on Your Own through
Disney
ST PETERSBURG : Day 1, Shopping Tour, Ball at Catherine's Palace
Day 2, Private Tour w/ Anastasia w/ our son's family
TALLIN : DIY, Just wander around old town, sightsee & shop. LOVE
this charming town.
STOCKHOLM : DIY, VASA Museum, Nordic Museum , lunch in Gamla Stan,
another place to fall in love with !
LOVE HAVING 2 DAYS AT SEA.....heavenly !!
Fortunately , we were in the Baltic 2 years ago, so St Petersburg touring were easy decisions. Just having 1 1/2 days makes it difficult to choose
If this were my 1st time there this is what I'd see ( IMHO )
Peterhof, palace & fountains, St Issacs , not sure about The Hermitage .It's very time consuming. Glad I went there, but would never choose it over Peterhof. The subway ride w/ the local experience and the unusual artwork ( not your NYC sub !! ) also Peter and Paul Fortress church where all the Czars are buried. We also went to the Yusapov Palace where Rasputin was murdered. They have these mock scenes with all the characters and they take you to the basement where the crime was committed. Pretty cool!
Whats Facebook????
OK, I do know, its what my very young kids do!!!
Farmvill, etc.
I think I read a post saying that on the Baltic planning thread, but I would take thoose a little with a pinch of salt, as DCL didnt confirm times to me,
Your plans look very good, Hard rock great idea, book online!!!!!
Andrew...are you saying you can make res at the Hard Rock online ?
BTW, the Hard Rock is next door to Tivoli

I'm not going to let DD read your post saying that Rasputin was murdered in Yusopov's Palace, since he was only poisoned there and was found under the ice in the river, so he actually drowned. The drowning was after he was taken out into the courtyard and shot. She will tell you the entire story and what she learned was the same thing that our guide told us.
I was extremely impressed that she knew the exact sequence of events regarding his death. YES...she learned something in school and retained it.
Love the subway stations. Going back again this time and hope the restoration work is completed.
MY BOOK CAME!!!!!!Now I just have to look through it!
I'm also get motion sicknessOther than Denmark we are planning on sticking with the partial day city tours so that we have partial days to explore on our own and experience the culture. Denmark we are looking at doing the countryside castle tour. Don't know the exact tours we are thinking of yet - still waiting on everyone to finish reading through them all and ranking their personal preferences. Not sure what the rest of the family is planning for Berlin but DW, DD and I are probably just going to do the Steam Train and explore the port city area rather than try to do the frantic trip into Berlin.
The big thing we are trying to figure out is when to take our 6 year old off for the tours and when to just let her stay in the kids club. We ARE going to splurge and take her to the Royal Ball at St. Catherine's Palace. DD gets motion sick and we pushed her past her limit on the Med cruise with the tours so we are trying to be careful this time around so she doesn't get sick all over grandma again on a bus. Thankfully the boat doesn't bother her at all.
Brrr, hate when that happens tooOn a non-trip note...
Woke up this morning to the house being 50 degress from the heater going out overnight. That was fun. Thankfully they were able to get it fixed within a couple of hours.
My DH went back to the store as apparently I didn't pick up enough junk food when I wentI don't go to the grocery store before snow storms. Actually, DH works at one so I get to hear how much stuff people buy before a storm. It really is amazing what people will buy when they think they will be shut in the house for a couple of days. He'll drive in just about any kind of weather so if we need something he'll pick it up when he goes to work in the snow.

Have looked at excursions but can't make up mind on anything
So far the only one that Kara is 'wanting' to do is the Viking Walk - but only if she gets the blue viking helmet![]()
Me thinks it is going to be a quiet weekend around here - watching it snow

My DS16 got braces yesterday
His pediatric dentist really dropped the ball as apparently he should have had these 2-4 years ago
So from here on in he goes to my dentist.
Anyone with braces experience have any advice
He is complaining most about these little white blocks they attached behind his front lower teeth to take care of his overbite. Says they make it impossible for his molars to meet and thus he can't eat anything
He has been managing though with soft food...
Anyone's kid have this![]()
Sorry he's having such a rough time of it.My DS had braces too, but not spacers...so I can't help you there. Only advice I can give is to use that wax if he finds his mouth getting rubbed raw and keep meds on hand for the occasional soreness.
Our dentist wanted to do surgery because DS's teeth were still coming in and weren't moving fast enough. We decided that poor dentist was just going to have to learn patience.Good Luck with the other dentist.
