Celestine,
We will be participating in the fish extender so count us in. Thanks for coordinating this.![]()
Yes, I do not know if I would like that, it would be great for crossing Panama at slow speed, to have the forward facing verandah, but on any day other than mildly windy or calm it might not be nice, and could render it unusable, another one of those ideas that look good on paper.
Saw that on bath tubs, actually been spending a little time tonight looking at all the rooms to update myself on the options. The deluxe oceanview staterooms or old 4's look and feel smaller, apart from the very very important extra luggage space under the bed, which is really a reason to book a cruise all by itself.
Must say the only time I used the tub rather than a shower on any cruise was the last one with the whirlpool bath in the Cat 3, the tubs are too small to use.
We usually bathe the little ones in the tub (granted it was one of the whirlpools in the Roy suite)
Yes I have been looking as well and it appears that they have a Cat 4 Concierge located conveniently next to the new Roy & Walt again getting you to book 2 cabins rather than 1!

On the DREAM the next question is, is it worth having Concierge???
With the ports of call Nausea and Castaway, unlikely to book any shore trips.
So its booking NEW Palo only. Brunch worth it, but might not know rotation, so might miss a dinner for Palo dinner. So why bother?
Concierge, use of the new Concierge room, so more food. That's in short supply on the ship, and daily surprise.
I cant think for a reason to have Concierge on a short cruise, on the 12 night with those ports of call well worth it, ??????
Sadly according to this link I am correct the Roy & Walt will only accomadate 5 on the new ships & they face forward not good for using the veranda when in motion.
Also no more Bath Tubs in Cat 4's & though I have not checked I would then guess No more tubs in any of the regular staterooms!

If you are a gold or platinum CC member you wont have any trouble booking anything!
I always booked all my ressies & most of my shore trips online when the 105 day window opened up!
They put those concierge family staterooms next to just about every suite with connecting doors.
I just noticed that the family stateroom that's between the Roy & the Walt connects to both cabins. Plus the Roy & Walt each connect to the cabin on the other side as well. Not sure I'd want to pay the price DCL charges and have a suite with 2 connecting doors when I'm only using the suite in the middle. That could be a very noisy cabin depending on the neighbors.
Now back to our cruise...
Still thinking of thoose shore trips, and when they will be out....
We know the transatlantic is April 10th, so their cruisers who could book at 120 days, would book in early December. They would want some time to consider their options before booking.
So you would assume / presume the transatlantic would be out soon, and at the same time, the Med ones. 1/ As some cruisers will do B2B, with the first Med cruise and 2/ Med cruises on three of the six ports were already 'run' in 2007, so should be a problem to repeat.
So the question is, are they releasing them all, IE all European ones at the same time, All the press releases we have seen tie in Med and Baltic on the same release, so you would presume they will all be out together.
Also economies of scale, in 07 we had one DVD, it would be logical to produce one DVD for all of Europe and select what you want from a menu.
So a month away from some people booking trips for the TA, you would expect to see some activity.
Celestine - We are interested in the FE exchange also
raining here - going to be a wet night for Trick or Treating but at least it is not snowing
have a great weekend all
I noticed yesterday that the tabs are now there for excursions for each of the ports which suggest it is happening in the very short term. That said, I don't check the site often so those tabs could well have been there for months!

Hey, Happy Halloween everyone!!
On a whole other subject....can anyone explain what a "fish extender" is? I've tried searching the threads, but to no avail....I'm still confused...I take it, that it does not mean you all take a carp and put him on a rack?
I saw that, and I think I kinda get it now- but is it just for children to participate in, or adults too?
If it's adults, I'd be game- sounds like fun!
(thank you for the reply)

I know towards the end there's a couple pics of FE's people have recently made.
I've also heard of people just using a tote bag rather than go thru all this trouble.
We haven't been on a cruise that's had an FE and I'm not sure I'm going to do it on this one either. After seeing all the loot some people are getting, I'm rather concerned about all the space taking the gifts over and even more concerned about the space needed to bring stuff home.
