Just a quick hello! DH & I were away for the weekend, much needed R&R. Can't wait for the shore trips to be out! It will be here before you know it!

Remind me where your hotel is, what your time constraints are, and if it just you and me -- or the whole crew . . . armed with that info I will give some suggestions for meeting . . . I'm looking forward to it!:goodvibes
Gotta look up the hotel name again and pm it to you. The two things I miss from NY are the bagels and the pizza:laughing: If it is for coffee and bagels in the morning-it will be just us, if you are up for a pizza excursion for lunch time, my kids and DH will tag along:goodvibes We will most likely be meeting up with my extended family for dinner and I'm reluctant to inflict them on anybody so anytime before 3pm is good for us for meeting up.

This is great Laurie!:woohoo:
Pretty brave, I have been trying to work up the nerve to visit a podiatrist for my bunion. You are a much braver woman then I!;)
:laughing:So funny you should say brave as it is fear that is finally moving me to do this. Fear of not being able to get the surgery later on if I don't do it now:eek: I am scared to death though:rolleyes1 of the surgery and the activation:guilty:
Just google and see what happens when you don't see the doc and that may help you bite the bullet and make that appointment:hug:

Sorry Mrs. Scooby, I don't know what a fish extender is. This is my first cruise. I have indeed made these for anyone who wishes to have them or anyone who wishes to change them.

I put them on the magnet thread also with the Helsinki flag.
I'm pretty sure we will have a fish extender exchange-kind of like a secret santa/trick or treat-umm hard to explain. We hang things that look like decorated shoe holders (long fabric with pockets) on the fish decoration outside our door and proceed to travel the ship putting little treats/presents in participant's "fish extender". On our cruise last year lots of people put small door magnets on people's doors that were participating-it was a wonderful gift:goodvibes

I'll be making a magnetic signs for my door, but loved the surprise of coming back to my cabin and seeing new ones:woohoo:

Since some folks don't want anyone borrowing their designs I try to remember to ask before saving the image. And I am not a designer so all my signs come from images I save from the internet.

Partcipation for the fish extender is by signing up in advance so folks have an idea of how many gifts to bring. It is fun, but totally optional:goodvibes

:yay: :woohoo:

I guess now we will have whisper when you are around. :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl:

:laughing:Just call me Jamie Sommers:cool2:

Thanks Andrew, I'll have to take a look at this.
I've been on DCL's website several times the last week but haven't been poking around for this cruise. I found out last Monday that my TA for our Jan. cruise screwed things up and our ressie got cancelled by DCL. Got that all straightened out last week and then I go on there again today and find out they screwed it up again and once again DCL cancelled it. So I finally got it straight this afternoon. I'm just glad that my cabin wasn't taken by someone else both times it was cancelled. Of course, the TA wanted to blame DCL for the error. I'm glad that I know that I can look on DCL's website and see the booking or else we wouldn't have known about it until it was way too late and hadn't received our documents.

What a nightmare:scared1:
Oh, if it were me I would be transfering my reservation to Dreams Unlimited right now:sad2:

I actually just went and checked the DCL site to make sure my reservation was still there:rolleyes:

Glad you have everything covered:thumbsup2

We could do Lombardi's for lunch -- Spring Street and Mott -- or I would say John's on W. 44th except that it would be crazy busy around there the day after Thanksgiving. There is also a John's pizzeria on E. 64th Street and First, less atmospheric than the Times Square location but the pizza is just as good. Just let me know what you think!

Ok Jamie :rotfl2:

We have to use this TA since we are using our timeshare points for the cruise so no options to have it released and transfer to another TA. I'd rather use my regular TA, but we only have to put out a little bit of cash with this transaction. I'm just glad that I know what I'm doing and how DCL operates or we wouldn't have had a cruise booked.
But in the end it has worked out and the cruise is paid in full. I know this because I was able to book DH & DD on the jet ski excursion at CC.

Attention all DVC members that are interested, but have not heard, booking for the concierge hotel collection for 2010 has opened up!:teacher::thumbsup2

:mad:Got up early to talk to DVC MS and secure hotel at Royal Garden only to find out (I should have checked the Royal Garden website) that all rooms are DOUBLE OCCUPANCY only. So with the two DD's we would need 2 rooms.

Back to planning square one.

Yes no Quad occupancy we have booked 2 rooms for our party of 6 & they will not guarantee connecting!

Talked to them this morning (I love the internet they called me) to see about a third room for cash looking for a Guarantee of connecting!

Was told that this is their peak peak season & they could not guarantee connecting (It is just like Disney)!

We do have a King bed in one room & 2 twins in the other (This is there connecting configuration) so I have left it as a points only booking for 2 rooms!

Just FYI a regular superior room would be about $410 a night US :headache:if you paid cash!

We figure for 4 nights it is not worth the dough! We will rough it!:lmao:

Andrew or Celestine,
How is the area around Odessa Wharf in the Docklands? The website is www.odessawharf.com

Thanks for any info.

Poor location for public transport, nearest tube is Canada water (Julibee line only, other line closed, maybe open by summer 2010), THey sell it well with the photo of Canary wharf but wrong side of the river. Yes you can get a water taxi to the City, but not my view of a good location, a lot wil lbe on bus taxi, etc.

Its safe and nice location apart from that.

UPDATE

Went past this on Friday, didnt like the location, its issolated as I expected

Happy Saturday everyone, and happy weekend! We are having December weather in October here in NYC . . .

We could do Lombardi's for lunch -- Spring Street and Mott -- or I would say John's on W. 44th except that it would be crazy busy around there the day after Thanksgiving. We managed to get a room at the Wyndham Garden in Times Square South (36 th street). Not easy to find a room kind of last minute that met with DH's approval. The trip advisor reviews were ok so hoping it turns out to be a good place to stay.

Quieter places are easier for me to hear, plus DH likes to avoid crowds when we can-so either the John's on 64th street or Lombardi's is fine. We will be driving home that night though (Friday) -as the place my sis picked for Thanksgiving dinner is pretty expensive:rolleyes1

The kids are excited about visiting the empire state building so we will probably go there after lunch. You and your DDs are welcome to join us if you want:goodvibes
