Ok, so as I've said..........I've been on these boards since 2002, just after I departed from my first 7 day in tears.........I loved it so much, I was determined to get a job onboard! After I got over that, I kept posting and the rest is history!

I did not go with Disney, but I did go to the Mexican Riviera and I wasn't too impressed with any stop. I said I would never go again, but I might force myself to go on the Magic.

On the PC repo cruise this past summer, we stopped at Cabo and Puerto Vallarta, and I would go back to both -- I also heard good things about Matzalan from those who did the 7 night cruises that stopped there. I just didn't care for Acapulco.

We did Cabo, Matzatlan and Puerto Vallarta on our West Coast trip and although we made some terrific DISfriends on that trip, it was far by my least favorite cruise as far as ports go.

Well, I liked Cabo and PV as well as any of the Caribbean ports I have been to, so I would go there again

Hi Everybody. Just checking in to the new thread. There's no way i could keep up with the old one. I did my 3 day intensive board review course last week, and I started another new rotation this week. Only about 10 more weeks until graduation!

We spent a week in PV about 16 or 17 years ago and liked it. It's so different seeing the Mexican ports from a longer stay than just a few hours.
We liked Matzalan when we were there on the MR in 2005, did a great tour with Matzalan Frank, who posts on the DIS every so often. Wasn't too thrilled with Cabo because it was so hot and humid and I was miserable in the humidity. But what we saw of Cabo was pretty was really clean.

I would go on another MR cruise with DCL, now that I know to expect a whole different crowd than what we are used to sailing with in the Caribbean or to the Bahamas.

Unfortunately, a 3/4 day cruise won't get you that far south. Ensenada is the most common port for the short cruises. Blech. But Catalina is pretty nice. And there's plenty to do in San Diego.

Congrats, Mike, for being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I wouldn't do a short cruise on the west coast -- If I'm going to CA, I would make it a longer trip, do DL and a beach for a few days and then do a longer cruise (7 days or more) if they had it . . .

Thanks again for all the info. If the Magic will be kept in CA, any ideas about the Wonder?????? I'm assuming the two new ships will take over the Caribbean itineraries as they will be based out of PC??????
