That sounds almost exactly like what I am planning - leaving Wednesday night to be in London early Thursday, and probably heading back from Barcelona the day we get back. Fingers crossed that you could get the same stateroom for the med:goodvibes

Oops my bad flying out Wednesday morning get into London Wednesday evening to avoid jet lag!

Thursday a little self touring or guided tour Friday more touring maybe a ride down the Thames & Saturday Portabello road for fun!

Does that work, Robert? I have always tried to sleep a little on an over night flight, fight my way through the first day and reset by the second day . . .

Sure you get in late stay up late ((local time) & go to bed late (early on home time) the next morning you are as good as new!:dance3:

Julie remember he's flying with 4 kids :headache: :scared1: . I'm like you and would rather fly overnight and tour/shop the first day then fly in that evening and start touring/shopping the next day. Plus it saves us 1 night's hotel bill.

Yeah I did that for the 2007 Med we landed in Paris and went straight to Euro Disneyland we walked around like zombies untill our room was ready at 3 or 4 PM YIKES!:headache::3dglasses:scared1:

I cannot sleep in a plane! Unless maybe I had your $$$$ & flew 1st class & had one of those lay flat sleeper seats!:woohoo:

Wow, you wouldn't cut it flying overseas with us. We flew to Paris, by way of London, got to the hotel at DLP and room wasn't ready and then walked DTD until we could enter the park at 1:00 for free. (I was a CM at the time and that was our restriction to get in the park for free.) Stayed in the park until it closed and finally got back to the room around 10:00. Did the same thing last year when we flew to London, only difference was we could get into our room at 8:45am, then toured London until 9:30pm.
Yup long days but worth it and NO we didn't have the laydown beds in first, just the no leg room in world traveler on BA. I wouldn't want one of those sleeper first class seats on a flight that short, I'd rather have it on a much longer flight like going to Australia, but that won't be happening as long as those flights are around $18,000/person :scared1: .
I'll stick with my overnight flight and catch a little bit of sleep. :cloud9: But then there are only 3 of us and it's easier for 2 adults to keep 1 child entertained & content on a flight, unlike your clan. :grouphug:

Laura,

I think Tom & I are booking the 7/19 AK cruise. As we are low on the CC totem pole (Tom affectionately calls us "steerage", we can't book until Mon. :lmao: After the Baltic, we'll be GOLD - oooohhhhhh.

JoAnn, so glad Ken is doing well. :yay:

Ok, I'm putting in for 7/19/11 for just Ken & I Alaska.......hopefully, we'll get the booking. I'll confirm when I hear.......:dance3:

:banana::woohoo:

Reunion cruise on the 19th! Woo Hoo!

:woohoo::yay:

MaryAnn, forgot to add that when we travel as a family, we are ALWAYS "Steerage" ;)

We are hoping to take our "first" verandah as a couple on the Trans-Atlantic. (Really, really hoping that Steve likes it. I really would like to move up in the world. :lmao:)

And GOOD LUCK to any of our DIS-sers hoping to book on Monday am. (At the time of this posting it was still before midnight West Coast time.

Let us know. Plenty of room on the 7/19 cruise! :thumbsup2

:goodvibesGood Morning All:goodvibes
Good luck to all of you booking today!:thumbsup2 Me I am waiting for 10/29:hourglass

Yup 3 versus 6 and while I wont spend the money for business class 3K each (not for 6 anyway) I will spring for a hotel room if it provides a smoother & happier experience!

That is the link for the July 19th thread for Alaska 2011. We just booked and joined. Right now, it's just us but maybe my parents and my dad's new sister (long story) may join us. :confused3

Shout out to Andrew, I saw that you booked July 30th, Med that year....:woohoo:

Since it's just next year, we did book a HAL Greek cruise. If it's just us, we decided to go with our "first" cruise line for our 30th. I will still lurk here and keep in touch as you prepare for this trip!!

We added quite a few to our 8/23/11 Alaska cruise thread today . . . including a few you would know from our PC cruise, Andrew, Smeecanada and JoiseyMom.

Tell me about it! So you're sailing one month after us, just like Tortola!:goodvibes

Let's try to meet again in December in NYC!:banana:Thx again for organizing the Helen and Dave this summer, that was special!

Short version, my father was contacted by a woman a year ago in June, it turns out, she is his sister but was adopted by another family (his parents were divorced at the time) and is 15 years younger than him. She has no children and lives in Oregon. We met her this June. She to loves to travel, especially on cruises and suggested that we book the Wonder to Alaska so she could join us. So now I'm trying to put this trip together and get parents to go as well, we'll see!

How's the back to school going, Julie? Has your DD been applying to schools? Keep me posted!!:surfweb:

Send my reguards on, should be a nice cruise.

I priced up my 2011 Med cruise online, for a CAT 4, and my Cat 3 is reasonable agianst that, quite pleased.

Finally, see I should never stray far from the DIS, JoAnn, did your girls already know what they wanted to go to college for or where? April is in her Jr year and while she has no idea what she wants to do she has decided she wants to stay "close" by (meaning in CA). I went out and bought what feels like all those books about "371 Best Colleges", 2010 List of Colleges, and th best one of all - 910 College Majors.

While she has not decided what, she has eliminated some and is leaning to psychology or criminalogy or sometime like that. I suggested she declare undecided but would like to help her make a decision. (My other two never included me so this is like my first time going through this.) Its heart wrecking. LOL I'm just glad its her and not me. Have you seen the list of requirement now? YIKES. So far, she has been leaning towards UCLA, UC Irvine, UC Santa Barbara (Mom doesn't like that - high rate of partying and alchohol according to the Princeton Review) and Stanford. Mom of course is pushing Loyola Marymount. Dragging her to LMU open house on 10/26 hoping she'll fall in love with it. We shall see.

Any suggestions you recommend on how to encourage or support her? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
