7/18/2010 Mickey's Baltic Ballyhoo!! Part 5, post 247.

PS I have been off with my freind the Doctor on his travels.

Yes, I think I spotted you on the telly while in the UK (that is, when I wasn't baking in your ungodly and completely unexpected heat!). I kept seeing ads for the new Torchwood with the creepy little kids . . . do you watch that at all?

:lmao:

It's been a little crazy around here. I passed my PA law exam. Now I just have to pass the NAPLEX and I'll be licensed!

Congrats Mike!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana:

I'm back and that was about as far back as I will be able to go to catch up :rotfl2: so if I missed anything truly important you can fill me in or I'll figure it out eventually!:goodvibes

Ditto on the congrats Mike!!!

Welcome back Julie!

That's just Andrew trying to mess with me . . . I know my TA would email if any news was released and I checked email every day, so it didn't work - but it didn't stop him from giving it a try:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Hey all!!
I'm extra busy trying to get the house cleaned up for the DMiL and get everything done for work before I leave for DCL on Saturday.

Hope everyone is having a great summer:goodvibes
We are getting close to the one year mark for our Baltic cruise:woohoo:

Laurie,
We were able to upgrade again on the cruise and got cabin 8102 once again. If you can get that cabin I highly recommend it. We paid $1080 to go from a cat. 9 to a cat. 3. It's still worth the upgrade port price. We arrived at 10:20 and were the 2nd people to upgrade. They were also cat. 6's available but I just asked if 8102 was available and it was.
If you do upgrade to a cat. 3 please tell Mike & Gavin (the concierge) that Barb & Alexa say hi. They are both great guys.

I'm sending you a PM as well.

Have a great cruise and I hope you can convince your DH to do the upgrade if any are available.
Barb

Watched 4 of 5, last one is tonight, we have had all the worlds kids say,

  • We are coming
  • We are coming back
  • We are coming tommorrow
  • We are here
  • A number ( country by country exactly 10% of the kid population
  • And then........Spoilers

Basically an alien race, uses our kids, like a parasite they took 12 in 1965 in return for a virus to stop a global flu that year that would have killed most of the world, now they are back want 10% of the worlds kids or will kills us all with a virus. No ship, no one knows where they are, so no one to shoot at.
Getting very big ratings for a summer drama.

PS FIXED the weather for you hope you liked 31c and 45c on the tube.

Its called ''The Wimbledon roof effect'' like global warming, Wimbledon put an expensive roof on, to avoid the rain during the tennis, so as it started in service this year, they only needed to use it once, for our UK palyer to have his game live on primetime TV in the evening, not rain.

Slight wind up, but, wait and see'

I thought we were doing an early dinner after the matinee? I will have to check with Helen and everyone to confirm, and also who is coming (I know Helen and Dave, you two, and JoAnn and DH . . . then, including me is that just 7 for the reservation???)

Arrrrgh, the tube in that heat was the worst!

The new Torchwood looked pretty creepy from the ads . . . nothing scarier than scary children . . .

Isnt it on BBC America this week??

For those ''who'' do not know, Torchwood is a spin off of, Doctor who, ( rearrange the letters) Captain Jack Harkness flew with the Doctor in DW, and cannot die after being brought back to life be Rose the doctors assistant.

I'll have to check, but generally BBC America (which I watch quite a lot!) gets your shows about 6 months later . . .

P.S. I watched the ads while in CARDIFF but didn't see any creepy children there!

By the way, Andrew, of course I didn't need a car in London or Oxford, but after Oxford rented a Vauxhall Corsa and put 926 miles on it with absolutely no problem at all with driving on the left. Have you driven in the States and did you have a problem with switching over to the right? I started to wonder why everyone makes such a big deal about it.

I understood they were going to show it, nearly the same time as us, maybe a day later. It then may get a repeat on SciFi

I have driven over in the USA, and Europe many times, in fact only Barbados was the same side of the road as us, I find driving in the USA is generally''easier'' than here, Wide roads powerful cars, no roundabouts, good traffic lights, can overtake/undertake on all lanes, easy to navigate.

Also all hire cars are automatic, against our manual gear shift, however whilst easy to drive, no so good at burning up from traffic lights when they go green.:)

The issue is coming back to the UK, often my car feels 'small' when I come back, and then I have the M25 to look forward to:scared1:

If you can drive in London you can drive anywhere.

The fireworks are usually loud tonight. :confused3 Good thing I was aware of the time or I would have jumped off the couch. :scared1:

Just as I was giving up on convinving DH to try for a cat. 3, I mentioned that he might want to check and see how much they are when booked in advanced. That convinced him that the upgrade at the port was a great deal. So we are going to try for it-hopefully we will get there in time with the transfers from the MCO Hyatt.

I'm thinking of just telling everyone that you said hello;)
That way I'll be sure not to miss anyone:laughing:

I'll be back next Thursday:cool1:

DH generally does the driving, but I have driven. The only time we almost went wrong was pulling out of a gas station & there was nothing else on the road so we almost ended up on "our" side rather than "yours". Seems like to managed to accomplish alot on your trip. Totally agree about the tube - it made me laugh that they advised you to carry water only once you were on the platform & helpless to do anything about it. I also caught a local service overground from Paddington back to Reading (first stop Reading) & it had no a/c - it was 30 min part baked commuters who slid off at Reading !!!

In exactly one month I will be driving in the USA again have a car for 21 nights, but it will be parked at Port Canaveral for a week of that!

True about all the notifications about drinking water once you were on the platform and it was too late:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Of course, we had water with us all the time and still felt as though we were being slowly baked in an oven, so the water may not have been too much help anyway unless someone was already dehydrated.
