I didn't know that, but since I wasn't in there, I chose to believe he did the best judgment call he could, that combined with the fact that everyone seems to have gotten out - he's one lucky pilot - ok - skill probably had something to do with it. I was just talking about water crashes to DD and I was mentioning that I had never heard of a plane safely landing in water. Guess I can eat my words now. And I will gladly do this. Whew! I am starting to breathe now.

Truly, the water was probably the safest place. There isn't any place around there with enough land to put the plane down besides an airport.

Darn it - I was supposed to take DD's packpack to get her name embroidered, then cameras taken for cleaning and then get all the snacks together for an away game. I have to travel about 10 miles but its mostly on freeway so not too bad. But I will be happy and if I can get my behind off this computer, I may even be able to make it there on time. :)

I can't help it  I'm a big news junkie - :scared1: Lord! I turned into my father! :faint: :lmao:

ABC seems to be on top of things in relaying the news for once.
They talked to one of the passengers and said they only noticed 1 of the crew members with a small cut. But that is unofficial.

Proceeding with normal routine would mean that you need to continue with looking/booking your Peru airfare.

The scuba divers have completed their check of the plane and no one is one the plane. No fatalities.

I know but 100% normal routine right now is a bit scary! (I'm a big scaredy cat. )

That is one job I do not want - a scuba diver! :cold:

If it doesn't get done just blame it all on DH since he called you and freaked you out. pirate:

Just flipped to ABC here and it was heart pounding to see how much the tail has sunk. When I flipped on at 12:57, the plane was just a bit submerged and now seeing a better picture, it was scaring looking. I too have almost jumped ship with ABC, guess I'd better reevaluate them. I like Charles Gibson. Love his voice, very calm and reassuring.

I love how they check with Homeland Security right away. Bob is certain it was Al queda pigeons......:lmao: :lmao:

They just said the plane is in the Hudson right off of 12th Street at 42nd Ave. So it is not too far from Times Square.

:headache: I was so rattled that I just realized, DH must of called to have me tape it and here it is 45 minutes later and I just hit record. Oh well, now I can tell DD that I have been witness to one safe water landing.

Who else is our NY contingency? MaryAnn? JoAnn? Julie? Hope their commute isn't too bad tonight. :grouphug: to everyone and make sure you hug your babies and significant other a bit tighter tonight.

As for me - I have 15 minutes to get my snacks and ice so I will be checking out for now but will check back in later. Be safe all!

Ok, I go to bed and wake up, pay a few bills and have over 6 pages to read. WOW.... :chat: :hyper: :hyper2: :mic:

I go to work, come back over 10 pages of posts! We'll be at a 1000 by midnight at this point........:yay:

You really do need your :cloud9: :cloud9: :cloud9: on this cruise. Walking all the cobblestones is a killer in Tallinn and Copenhagen. Oh wait...the killer in Copenhagen was getting lost and ending up at the American Embassy, walking way too far out of our way.

Now she tells us!:scared1:

Well there certainly will be good food this summer, as I've posted before , we're going to Ireland and The Peak District. Wrong place's for Scumpy but I'm sure Paul will find some other local tipple to try :goodvibes :goodvibes

OOhh.....tipple, new name for it!:woohoo:

Well Izzie I guess you now know your mission for the Dis Meet & Drink before the cruise!:thumbsup2 :worship: :worship: :drinking1 :drinking1

One of us always has a common theme in his posts.........:confused3
