7/13/2016 Magic Copenhagen to Dover Geothermal Cruise

Someone mentioned the Bergen port times...I was thinking the Port Adventures that are currently on there are from last summers' cruise, with a longer port time? Because they don't have Invergordon Port Adventures loaded yet, at least not that I've seen.

I was just in contact with one of the boat tour companies in Kristiansand. We were hoping to do a boat tour to Lillesand on our own, but the only boat tour place I can find says their ship has been chartered by Disney for its excursions. I am finding very few alternate options in Kristiansand and Bergen. I really really hope we stay longer in Bergen so we can do a fjord trip like those listed in the Port Adventures!

The port adventures showing currently are last years and I think they will be updated in March. DCL recently adjusted port times on our cruise. So I do not think more is to come, bar the tour operator in Orkney felt we would be in an hour earlier, that's possible. In view of the long Atlantic run post Bergen I can't see the port times adjusting much there myself but who knows if a tour operator has difficulty they may win a small concession. Kristainsand is very limited on choice DCL and Private.

Also, Disney Fantasy, was your screen shot on the left the new port times? It looks like while Invergordon got longer Kristiansand got shorter??

I am worried because although my family are Gold, my mom is Silver and my sister has never sailed before. It's going to be complicated if we have to try and book the ship's excursions. :(

The recent screen shot was taken last weekend. Yes increase at Invergordon slight adjustments. All people in One stateroom can book at the highest level of one person in that room. So if four in a room but one is Gold you book at Gold. If part of your family is Silver and all in one room and the other is Gold , then you will have to book at the different Windows. Personally I can't see any Shore trip selling out by Silver, but, book at midnight Eastern USA time zone to be sure. For Oslo I would suggest book a private guide and use the Oslo Card to get around and in places, we dock close to the city. Bergen again you can get around OK. I would suggest book private tours in Iceland with extreme Iceland and Invergordon with local operators.

Thanks for clarifying the booking -- my mom is in a room with my daughters (who are gold) but it's my sister I'm worried about. Also, my mom has some mobility challenges, so I am considering booking her on a Disney tour in Oslo that gives an overview without a lot of walking while the rest of us do something more "active" and go to the Viking museum.

Wondering if I should put a child in my sister's room??? It wouldn't change the dollar amount, but might allow her to book with us!

I can see a clear benefit for you Mum going on a DCL mobility tour. They are good at that. If there is room if you put a child who is GOLD on the room where your sister is Silver, she should be able to book at GOLD. Aldo ensure your TA or DCL if booked direct have linked reservations, 1/ you will see all names to book shore trips and Palo, ( adults), and 2/ to endure you dine st night together. Now where any child sleeps is down to them, extra card keys can be obtained at guest services, tell your stateroom hosts who sleeps where, what beds to make up and what life jackets required. But the child in the sisters room may go to a different muster station on the drill.

I don't know if it's the new website or what, but I am in some sort of endless loop with my reservation and I can't see the itinerary. How are you guys able to see the updated port times? Can someone do a screen shot of the most updated times? TIA!

We called Disney CruiseLine January 4 and they gave us these port times. I hope the phone call is correct.
Oslo is 6 AM to 6 PM
Kristiansan is 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Bergen is 5 AM to 2 PM
Iceland on the 18th is 7 AM to 5 PM
Iceland on the 19th is 11:45am - 5 PM on 20th.
Kirkwall is 7:45 AM to 6 PM
Invergordon is 6:30 AM to 5 PM

Linda

Linda thank you, the Kirkwall and Invergordon tie up exactly with what local operators are telling me, so looks good information, maybe DCL is playing games that people who book private tours will book at times that thry get off later than DCL tours.

Note in Europe the Disney Magic has all ashore 15 mins before port departure.

I found it quite easy just go to your reservation.View attachment 146584

I don't know what's happening...I've tried logging into my reservation via Chrome, Mozilla and now Explorer and it just sits there and sits there. I have tried calling up my reservation through the Castaway Cay link, too. And I can see my cabin/reservation numbers, but I can't get further. Previously, I was able to see the itinerary from within my reservation. At least, I thought I could. Now the only way I can see something similar to what Disney Fantasy posted is if I pretend like I'm booking a new reservation and then I can see the itinerary.

I hope this works itself out before PiF/excursion booking day!

Wow, Linda, the times they told you over the phone for Invergordon are quite a bit shorter than the ones Disney Fantasy posted from the website. I will need to make some adjustments to rental cars/tours. But shouldn't be an issue. And the time in Bergen is longer, but it gets there so early! Maybe so there can be Disney-run Port Adventures to the fjords?? (and same for Kristiansand) I will really have to twist my husband's arm to get up that early when we're on vacation ;)

So, Disney Fantasy, you think it's true that we will get into port that early, and the all aboard will then match up with what you posted from the website?

I think I can explain. Linda called Early January this update was just after, I would go by the screenshot as that's from the official site. I think they are trying to squeeze in long port adventures.

Any clue why the Iceland times are so far off? I'd love to get into Reykjavik earlier...it opens up more traditional tours.

DF, I just saw your post that you had a character breakfast on your Russia cruise in the character breakfast thread. Do you know if there will be one on this cruise and is it available to all or just those with kids? The Mediterranean one in 2014 didn't have it, but I did do one on the eight day out of New York in 2012 with my brother's family and we enjoyed it. Would enjoy having one again.

Welcome Mum!
There is a fish extender group organized (with a second one started to limit the size of the groups). I am not involved with the fish extender, but if you scroll earlier posts in this thread, some others have posted about it. No direct links can be posted.

I have another question for you as I am not sure if you posted it or not. Do you know which night will be the "formal night"? I would like to try to book Palo for a day close to my anniversary (18th), but would prefer to do it on the night I am going to be dressed up anyway. This worked out great on my honeymoon in the Med. Thanks DF for any input you might have.

Normally as a rule the first formal night is the first sea day, so It could be the day after Bergen. However we leave Kristainsand and Bergen early and therefore i will suggest its the night of Kristainsand. It will not be first night or Oslo night.

Yes we had one last year on the 12 night but not in 2014, reason Med is more port intensive, I would say I think we will have character breakfasts but bookable, we went as a family there were adults only there and different sitting times ie start every 15 minutes. Was Mickey, Minnie, Pluto and Goofy. They will be on the sea days. Maybe Oslo morning if we have a late arrival.
:thumbsup2 Keep going to ten!
