I know this has been asked before but can't find it.....

Scenario: I book at SSR for 10 nights at 11 months. At 7 months I want to split the stay and book BWV for 4 of those nights. When I call MS, how do they do this? If those nights are available at BWV am I guaranteed at the time of my call? I thought I read somewhere there is a few days until it is actually booked with Disney. If that is so, what if somewhere in that time I lose BWV....have I also lost those nights at SSR?

There was a post about people using developer points, but the delay was in getting the confirmation letter, and having it show up on the members site, not in actually having the reservation.

If you can change using ordinary DVC points, your ressie will be on the members site almost immediately. I've checked after calling MS and the new reservations have been right there!

PS. Now sometimes, MS says there are only a few available rooms, and I have had both reservations lost to me, the one I wanted and the one I had. This was a change that I was making 3-4 months out. I will never do that again. Plus, for you, I don't think that at 7 months out SSR would be so booked that your original ressie would be lost and not gotten back.

It is not a matter of days, but rather a matter of seconds. In a matter of seconds, if you release your booking you can lose it, and you can come to find that the booking you thought was available is gone... This is possible, and happens on occasion. If you have enough points... book the new room before cancelling the old one. Otherwise, explain completely to the MS person what you are doing and the need to move rapidly.... Still don't understand why Disney doesn't have a temporary HOLD system.

Ok, so I booked a 1bdrm SV for March at my home resort BWV at 11 months. I have an august use year, and borrowed the needed 120 points from my 2008 year.
I would now like to try to change that to a AKV Studio Savanna room at the 7 month window(coming up this week).
So what your saying is, they will cancel my BWV ressie, and book the AKV.
In the few minutes, or few seconds it takes to switch this, I could loose both reservations and end up with nothing??:scared1:
If there are no rooms available for that time at AKV, and I go on the wait list, could this still happen?:confused3

Also, the AKV will be only 105 points(booking one extra day). Since I borrowed from my 2008 points, does the 15 point difference have to be used before the end of August 2007?
Thanks.
