6610?

I am seriously upset. I just read the thread about room 6610, which I have for the Wonder on Sunday. It's a cruise that we've planned for over a year for our 10th anniversary. DH was actaully in Japan on business for the actual anniversary date, so I was really looking forward to this vacation.

I called DCL and they said there are no cabins available to switch, I can't even pay the difference and upgrade.

I am not sure if I should cancel and pay the penalty and try to stay at WDW ( we are on the land/sea) or just cancel. Yes I am an extremist

You've got to be kidding!!
Put me in a noisy room vs. no room any day!! Heck, I'd sleep in a closet if that's what it took.
Why don't you try to switch at the port, and bring one of those sound machines for backup?

This thread - http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=690365&highlight=6610 - has quite a discussion on 6610. Several people said they loved it! I bet you have a great time. It can't be worse than sitting next to a kid in a pickup truck at a stop light with the bass turned up!

I've heard noise complaints about the cabin that we will have on the 9/3 cruise, 5622. I'm willing to take my chances, though. It's all relative...

If you are still worried, have you thought about bringing a white noise machine? We bring ours on every trip, and never hear noise outside of our room.

Don't forget that the rocking of the ship will also help lul you to sleep. Also, remember that movies don't run all the time. I think that during the day, you'd be hard pressed to hear anything. We have 6612 at the end of Oct. (did a cat 6 gty and that's what we got assigned). Plus, none of the rooms are soundproof - you can hear loud people in the hallway from any room (at least that's what I remember from our last curise in 2001).

If you find it is really bad, you could always ask if there is any room to move to. I've read some posts here that people complained and were moved.

Thanks everyone! I guess when you plan for so long, you want it to be perfect and I guess the stress of packing was getting to me . Now I'm packed, and ready for a great trip.

Now If I could just get DH to pack up his stuff we'd be all set....
