650 million big ones...

Its supposed to be the Rivers of America, but I guess that's out the window if the island goes pirate. How will that fit in with the other sections? What if the third movie disappoints? Will they really even try to do this right, or will it be a cheap overlay?

The first question actually doesn't concern me too much - we have quite a history of pirates in the 1700's (something to do with shipping routes), and you could easily tie in Jean Lafitte & his crowd with the NOS side of America and let it fade out towards the edges. Not unlike the Bayous they'd almost have to use (in my pea brain, anyway).

The other two questions are more important - Will they do a good job? Track record is against them. Will Joe Sixpack & family care about pirates if the 3rd movie bombs? Don't know, but it's a darn good question.

I doubt it will bomb in the traditional sense. It may only do $100 million which would disappoint.

From a synergistic pov, that would be a collossal failure.

Just as if Dead Man's Chest had only made $100 million. They'd be dropping bricks about the 3rd movie, and we sure wouldn't be talking about spending $28 million on pirate decorations.

If Ends of the Earth doesn't go well beyond $200 million, it will be viewed as a failure for synergy (maybe even a financial failure given what its going to cost when its all said and done).
